After suffering the sting of a semifinal defeat, England and Argentina must dig deep and find inspiration for one more game at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Tomorrow, the two Pool D combatants will face off in the third-place play-off at the Stade de France (3:00 pm ET, Peacock).
England came far closer to reaching Saturday's final than Argentina, who were throttled 44-6 by Will Jordan and New Zealand.
England put in a memorable performance against South Africa and led most of the way, but the reigning Rugby World Cup champion Springboks scored the game's final ten points for an epic 16-15 win.

This will be England's second appearance in the bronze final. In the 1995 tournament, they fell 19-9 to France after losing to New Zealand in the semifinals.
For Argentina, it will be their third appearance, following a win in 2007 (over hosts France) and a loss in 2015 (to South Africa).
Who will take home consolation medals? Oddsmakers expect England to shake off their disappointment and dispatch the Pumas for the second time in the tournament, following their 27-10 win to begin Pool D play last month.

Coming so close to reaching the final after playing almost the perfect game for 70 minutes is certainly a major gut-punch for England.
However, to even be in that position was a momentous achievement for England, who went into the Rugby World Cup expected to do little.
Judging from their starting XV, which includes Farrell and six other players who started against South Africa, they will be taking their rematch with Argentina very seriously.
As a result, I expect them to want to make the most of the opportunity to come away with something from the tournament.
