Angels vs Mariners: Even on a board full of value, this one stands out. The Angels may be ice cold, but this matchup is too good to pass up. A vulnerable starter and a quietly loaded top half of the lineup set the stage for early offense.

Angels vs Mariners Best Bet
One of the sweeter plays on my Wednesday card is the Los Angeles Angels over 1.5 runs in the first five innings, priced at $1.45. Have the Angels been one of the worst teams in baseball over the past week? Absolutely, but this matchup against a struggling Mariners arm might be exactly what they need to snap out of it.
Emerson Hancock enters today with the worst pitcher rating on Batters Box dot com. He carries poorly rated average hitter matchup numbers in wOBA, ISO, and strikeout percentage. Through three starts this season, Hancock holds a 7.71 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP. He has allowed at least two earned runs in every outing.
The Angels lineup today features four Elite rated hitters, zero poorly rated bats, two hitters with strikeout rates above league average, and two hitters with ground ball rates above league average. So far this season, Los Angeles is averaging over two runs per game in the first five innings. Conveniently, Seattle has also been allowing two runs in the first five innings at home.
For the price and the number, I believe this is a worthwhile look today despite the Angels recent struggles. If Hancock continues to falter, Los Angeles should take full advantage.
