With four days off of the diamond, I'm about ready to jump back in. I never thought I'd miss baseball but here we are. We're taking a trip to the sunny California. The Los Angeles Angels are visiting the Oakland Athletics in a battle of California's worst two teams.

The Angels and Athletics have split the season series 3-3 so far this year.
Both the Athletics and the Angels have been bad this year, like really bad. With the departure of Shohei Ohtani, it was expected to see some regression from the Angels, but an early season injury to Mike Trout made things even worse.
The Athletics are playing in their finals season in Oakland and it looks like they're going out with just a bit of a whimper. Oakland's had some bright spots this season with the play of guys like Brent Rooker and Shane Langeliers.
Pitching for both teams has been really bad. The Angels have a combined ERA of 4.59 (28th) and the Athletics aren't far behind with a 4.46 ERA (25th). Tonight with both JP Sears and Griffin Canning on the mound, it should be no different.

Los Angeles has also lost 26 of their 37 road games and rank 28th in runs scored on the road.
The Oakland Coliseum is closing and it deserves to see as many wins as possible before the Athletics say their goodbyes.
