The Dodgers just got beat down by the Diamondbacks last night, losing 12-4. Their starter, Gavin Stone was blown up for 4 runs through the first 3 innings and once the bullpen came in, it only got worse.
Los Angeles had 4 different pitchers give up home runs yesterday, and those same 4 pitchers combined to allow all 12 of the Diamondbacks' runs. Tonight the Dodgers are going with rookie, Landon Knack.
Knack's posted a 1-1 record through 6 career starts, recording a 2.08 ERA and giving up just 4 home runs. He's got a 1.84 ERA at home this season and he's faced off with this Diamondbacks' lineup once before on the road. He went 5 innings, gave up 4 hits and just one earned run (Christian Walker HR).
On the flip side, Zac Gallen has been great this year; posting a 2.83 ERA through 12 starts. On the road is where things get a little shakey. Gallen has a 4.33 road ERA versus a 1.72 home ERA, something similar to what we saw last season.
He's alsoplayed at Dodger Stadium 6 times in his career and never recorded a win.

Shohei Ohtani has been leading off for the Dodgers, with Mookie Betts still out.

Ohtani has put on a show for Dodger fans this year, batting 0.316 with 27 home runs and 64 RBI. He's played in 84 of LA's 87 games and leads the team in every offensive category.

With Gallen on the mound for the Diamondbacks, it's a tougher matchup for Ohtani. He's 0/3 in his career against Gallen with two strikeouts; but all 3 of these at-bats came in just one game.
Ohtani has been on fire since the start of June, batting 0.306 with 13 home runs and 26 RBI. Gallen on the other hand, has a 4.33 road ERA, compare that to the 1.72 he's posted at home in Arizona.
Gallen's 2-2 on the road and 4-1 at home this season, he's given up 5 of the 6 home runs he's allowed this year on the road and he's never won in Dodger Stadium. He's a career 0-4 across 6 starts, posting a 4.29 ERA and giving up 4 home runs in his last start there; last season.
Ohtani loves Los Angeles, and I think he gets the best of this matchup with Gallen tonight.
