The Reds are feeling good about themselves after last night's 4-3 win over the Tigers. It was a bullpen game for Cincinnati as eight different batters combined for eight strikeouts with only three earned runs allowed on seven hits.

Reds vs Tigers Game Preview
This afternoon's Reds vs. Tigers clash means different things to both sides.
For the Reds, a victory would help strengthen their chances to make the MLB postseason. They currently occupy the final NL wild-card spot, however, their record is tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks while the San Francisco Giants and Miami Marlins are only 0.5 games behind them, too.
And while the Tigers' playoff hopes are essentially dead, winning would help them play spoiler to the Reds while also helping Detroit leave this series with some dignity.
Nevertheless, the Reds are building momentum at the right time. They're in search of a fourth consecutive win overall tonight and have also won their last three road games. Now, they're turning to right-handed pitcher Derek Law — who's celebrating his birthday today — to help extend their streak.
It's a rare starting appearance for Law, who's only made two previous starts this season. He's pitched a total of 49 1/3 innings over 48 appearances, playing to a 3.83 ERA while averaging 7.5 strikeouts per nine innings.
As far as how his two starts went, Law didn't allow a single run over 2 2/3 innings. Both starts saw the 33-year-old veteran pulled early on, so expect another bullpen game from Cincy.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are turning to rookie RHP Reese Olson. The former 2018 13th-rounder struggled in late-July/early-August but has since turned things around, going 1-2 with a 1.50 ERA with 16 strikeouts in his last three appearances.
At the same time, Olson has struggled to get the job done at home. He owns a 1-4 record in his last six appearances at Comerica Park, allowing six homers and 18 earned runs on 23 hits across 31 2/3 innings.
Reds vs Tigers Prediction
It's clear that the Reds have the Tigers' number and I don't see that changing this afternoon. Detroit has only scored three runs over the last 14 innings of this series and will struggle to get anything going against Law and the Cincinnati bullpen, proven by its struggles last night.
Having said that, I like the value that comes with backing the Reds on the moneyline (+103), so let's go without an outright win as one of the best bets.

As for another Reds vs. Tigers wager I like, let's go with Cincinnati outfielder TJ Friedl recording an RBI at +140 odds on Bovada.
The 28-year-old has been one of his team's best players lately, batting .370 while recording 10 hits, two HRs, and seven RBIs in his last nine games. He's also tallied at least one RBI in each of the last three games, which includes a two-run triple last night.
