With Royce Lewis once again out of the line up, the Twins have had to look elsewhere for offense. Enter, Byron Buxton.
Buxton has been one of the Twins best bats this season, batting 0.275 with 9 home runs and 37 RBI on the season. He's played in 68 of the Twins 90 games and he's been a big reason for their success this season.
Byron's hitting 0.444 through 4 games this month and 0.314 since the beginning of June. Six of the 9 home runs Buxton's recorded this year have come in this same time frame. He's only getting hotter as the temperatures heat up around the country, and we're riding the hot hand.
In his career, Buxotn's batting a 0.778 against Flexen with 7 hits; 5 being extra base hits (2 HR). He owns this matchup and tonight it should be no different.

The Twins are 51-39 and currently sit 2nd in the AL Central.
We're fading Chris Flexen, it's really as simple as that. Let me hit you with some stats anyway though.
Flexen has 5.08 ERA and he's recorded a 2-7 record through 16 starts this season. He's been terrible at home, recording a 5.25 ERA and surrendering 8 home runs at Guaranteed Rate Field. He's given up 5+ hits in 4 straight starts and he's given up 6 home runs in that span.
The Twins rank 10th in batting average against righties and 6th in home runs. Their offense is potent and 3 of the Twins top 6 batters today have a career batting average over 0.300 against Flexen.
Flexen's also struggled against lefties this year, allowing them to hit 0.276 with 10 of his 15 home runs being surrendered to lefties. The Twins have 5 left handed bats and switch hitters in the lineup today.
