We're deep into the second round of the NBA Playoffs and we've got some interesting story lines starting to develop. The Minnesota Timberwolves tied up their series with the San Antonio Spurs at two games a piece and Victor Wembanyama was ejected for the first time in his career.
In the Eastern Conference it was the New York Knicks punching their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals with a 4-0 sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks won by 30 and all New York's starters sat the entire fourth quarter.
We've got two more matchups on the docket today, with the defending champs looking to bringout the broom. Let's jump into it.
Brooms Out in Hollywood?
The Los Angeles Lakers are down 3-0 in their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder and could be sent home on their own home floor tonight at Crypto. Oklahoma City has won all three games in this series by 18 or more points and remain undefeated in the postseason (7-0).
The Thunder rank 1st among all playoff teams in offensive rating, averaging 122.1 points per game and the team's shooting 51% from the field. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 28.3 points per game in the playoffs and shooting 52% from the field.
Oklahoma City's been without their second leading scorer now for a majority of these playoffs but Chet Holmgren's done more than just step up. Chet's scored 22+ points in three of the team's last four games, coming off 18/9 in Game 3. Holmgren played just 31 minutes in a 23-point win, but shot 64% from the field.
Chet's averaging 21.3 points per game in this series and he's doing it on shooting splits of 60/46/82. The Thunder big man's also averaging 1.7 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in this series. The Lakers have no answer for Chet, on either side of the floor.
Homecourt Heroes
The Cleveland Cavaliers are down 2-1 in their semi-final series with the Detroit Pistons and it's because they can't win games on the road. The Cavs are the only team in the second round without a road win in the postseason and when you're the lower seed, that has to change.
The Cavaliers are 5-0 at home in the playoffs, averaging 119.2 points per game (1st), shooting 53% (1st) and 39% from beyond the arc (3rd). Now let's look at their five road losses.
Cleveland's averaging 100.2 points per game in the five road games (10th), as team they're shooting 42% from the field (11th) and 29% from the perimeter (14th). The Cavaliers have been two completely different teams, depending on location. That's a demon they'll need to face, but not tonight.
The Pistons haven't done a lot better on the road. They've got just one road win and the team's averaging just 98.8 points per game on the road (13th). That's a near 10-point drop when you compare it to the 108.2 points per game they average at home.
Detroit scored 109 points in Game 3 but the Cavaliers shooting 58% from the field was too much to overcome. The Pistons scored more fast break points, more points in the paint and won the battle on the glass.
Like I said, the Cavaliers shot nearly 60% from the field and they turned 16 Detroit turnovers into 27 points the other way. The Cavs scored 23% of their points off turnovers and that's something Detroit's struggled with through the entire postseason.
Today's Best Bets

Lu Dort o1.5 3s (-114) | Lucky Rebel
Lu Dort loves playing the Lakers and this price is something I just can't pass up. Dort's hit this line in two of the three games so far in this series, he's hit in in 7 of his last 10 games overall and in five of the team's seven playoff games.
Dort's shooting 37% from the perimeter in the postseason and 39% against the Lakers. The French Canadian's hit this line in 8 of his last 9 games against the Lakers and like I said he loves playing Los Angeles.
Dort's played the Lakers 22 times in his career as a starter and he's shooting 38% from three in these games; hitting 2+ in 16 of the 22 games.

Duncan Robinson o11.5 Poins (-115) | Lucky Rebel
Duncan Robinson has been phenomenal in this series. Through three games, Robinson's experience is showing and the sharpshooter's averaging 17.0 points per game in this series and doing it while shooting nearly 60% from the perimeter.
Duncan's got 80 playoff games under his belt and he's been incredible during his first postseason with the Pistons. He's averaging 12.3 points per game in the playoffs but he's shooting 43% from the perimeter. Robinson's been Detroit's most consistent perimeter threat and that very consistency is what was missing last year.
Duncan's cleared this line in five of his last six games and it feels like his offensive role has grown the deeper we've gotten into the playoffs. Look for that to continue tonight against a Cavaliers team that ranked 26th in threes allowed during the regular season and ranks 13th among playoff teams in opponent three point percentage.
