Round two of the NBA Postseason tips off today and with two great looking matchups. Let's talk about these two semi-final matchups a little bit and then get right into my favorite plays tonight.

Broad Street vs. Broadway

The night starts at Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks will host the Philadelphia 76ers for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semi-final.

The Sixers are coming off a huge Game 7 win over the Celtics on Saturday and the Knicks have been off since Friday; having finished their series in six games. The last time the Knicks and Sixers met in the playoffs it was 2024 and the two faced off in the first round.

The rosters were fairly the same, minus Paul George and Karl-Anthony Towns from their respective teams. The Sixers were lead by the duo of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The two combined to average over 60 points per game, in addition to nearly 12 assists and just under 15 rebounds per contest. The two were phenomenal but they just couldn't close out close games.

That's exactly where Jalen Brunson was thriving. Brunson averaged 28.7 points per game in that series with Donte DiVincenzo filling in as the team's second leading scorer at 17.8 points per game. Both teams looks a lot different now, but the rivalry remains the same.

North Star vs. Lone Star

Reports have now come out that Anthony Edwards is on track to play in Game 1 of the Minnesota Timberwolves series against the San Antonio Spurs. After Jaden McDaniels and the Timberwolves were able to finish off the series against Denver, they now enter the semi-final with their best player back on the court.

Antman's been battling 'runner's knee' or some form of knee issues for a big part of the season; post all-star break. He's just nine days removed from his most recent injury and it's still unclear how many minutes he'll play or what kind of shape he's in.

On the side of San Antonio is a team that handled business in just five games. They dominated Portland in Round one and if not for a Victor Wembanyama concussion, it probably ends in a sweep.

This iteration of the Spurs/Timberwolves haver never met in the playoffs, but I'd bet a lot of money this won't be the last time. Two teams with two of the best young superstars in the league and both play in a tough Western Conference.

This is just Round 1 between these two.

Today's Best Bets

Embiid Maxey Sixers

Joel Embiid o26.5 Points (-108) | Lucky Rebel

This one's simple, Joel Embiid takes a ton of free throws and Karl-Anthony Towns has a propensity to foul a ton. Embiid averaged 9.3 free throw attempts per game in their first round series and shot 9 or more free throw attempts in three of the four games he played.

Embiid averaged 28.0 points per game in the first round and his jumper wasn't even falling. He shot just 44.3% from the field in that series and just 15% from three. It took him a little while to find his legs again but as we saw in Game 7, he's back.

Embiid finished with 34 points on Saturday, shot 46% from the field and and got to the line for 11 free throw attempts. He shot 59.7% of the team's free throws in the four games he played and tonight against the Knicks I don't see why it would be any different..

Victor Wembanyama o27.5 Points (+100) | Lucky Rebel

Keeping with the same theme of big time, french speaking centers; let's talk about Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs haven't played since March 28th and that was a 19-point blowout win over the Portland Trailblazers.

Wemby scored just 17 points, took just 7 shot attempts and made 5 of the 7 shots. He wasn't really needed in the series clincher, but tonight against Rudy Gobert and the Timberwolves; it's going to be different.

Wemby's cleared this line in three straight matchups with the Timberwolves, averaging 34.0 points per game and shooting 46.5% from the field and 36.7 from the perimeter.
