Analysis & Breakdown

Madness in Minneapolis

The Timberwolves started this series by punching the Spurs in the mouth. Anthony Edwards returned to the floor after missing the last two games of the first round. Initial reports had Edwards set to miss 6-8 weeks with knee issues but the 24-year old guard would return after just 10 days and came off the bench to help Minnesota steal Game 1.

After stealing Game 1, the Wolves got blown out in Game 2 and we saw Edwards play just 24 minutes. The Timberwolves lost by 38 points and starters were pulled very early.

Edwards seems to finally be back, making his first start of the series in Game 3 and playing 41 minutes in a 7-point loss. He finished the game with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, shooting 46% from the field and recorded just 2 turnovers.

Victor Von Doom

The Spurs' have their own young superstar and he's been great in this series. Victor Wembanyama met Antman's 32 points with 39 points of his own. He grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked five shots and turned the ball over just once in 37 minutes of game time.

Wemby opened the series a little bit slow, scoring just 11 points in their Game 1 loss but following it up with 19/15 in just 25 minutes in Game 2. Victor picked up right where he left off, shooting 72% from the field in Game 3 and getting to the free throw line for 12 free throw attempts.

Wembanyama's averaging 34.2 minutes per game in this series and outside of the blowout win, he's played 37+ minutes in both close games.

The Spurs' also have the best defensive rating among all postseason teams this year, allowing just 101.4 points per 100 possessions. San Antonio also ranks 1st in opponent three point percentage, opponent field goal percentage and have the third best net rating so far in the playoffs.

They've been great on both sides of the ball and I'm sure both Victor and the rest of this roster has their eyes set on the Conference Finals.

Sunday's Best Bets

Victor Wembanyama o26.5 Points (+100) | Lucky Rebel

Victor is playing over 30 minutes per game for the first time in his career. He's averaging cloe to 35 minutes per game if you take out the game he left with a concussion and playing late into double digit wins.

Wemby's coming off his biggest playoff performance to date and best shooting night of the postseason thus far. His matchup with Rudy only provides added fuel to the fire and with Minnesota utilizing more Naz Reid it should only make for more mismatch opportunities.

The Spurs have a +14.3 net rating with Wemby on the floor and with their eyes set on the Conference Finals, you have to feed the big man.

Victor's taking close to 17 shot attempts per game in this series and tonight with a chance to go up 3-1, I'm most confident in the extraterrestrial.
