The Pick: Quinnipiac -5.5 (-110) Bovada

The only game I like on this small, Friday slate, we’re going to lay some points with the hometown Bobcats.

Quinnipiac is 6-2 on the season, with losses at UMASS and Canisius by nearly 20 in each game, but they are 4-0 at home and much better and faster than Navy.

The Midshipmen started 0-4 but are 2-1 in their L3 games, although those wins are against VMI (339th) and Coppin State (360th). Navy ranks 287th overall while the Bobcats at home are 10 spots ahead. Navy thrives on defense and will try to slow down Quinnipiac’s fast pace, but I don’t think they’ll be able to.

The Bobcats rank 72nd in pace and 62nd in scoring, putting up over 81 PPG. Navy ranks bottom 50 in PPG, FG%, 3P%, and 3s per game. However, Navy’s defense deserves respect.

They rank 7th in Opponent 3P%, holding opponents to 25.3% from deep. The Bobcats are Top 60 in 3P% making over 37% of their shots from deep. It will be an interesting clash, but I’ll back the Quinnipiac sharp shooters.

Plus, it’s worth noting that Navy is 1-3 ATS on the road this year, along with their pitiful 2-5 record.

Both teams shoot very well from the stripe, but Quinnipiac only fouls 15 times per game ranking 49th in the country. Navy, on the other hand, ranks 325th, fouling nearly 21 times per contest. The Bobcats shoot 22 FT per game so they should be able to get som extra points at the line, especially late in the game to extend their lead.

Give me the Bobcats at home on Friday Night to take down the Midshipmen.
