The Carolina Hurricanes travel to Denver to take on the Colorado Avalanche in a battle of two of the league's best.

The Canes just gave the business to the Oilers, winning 7-2 in Carolina. They dominated the Oilers all night long and that is nothing new this season.

The Hurricanes are off to a great start, winning 9 of their first 14 and looking dominant doing it.

Can they continue their fast start tonight against the reigning Stanley Cup champs?

The Avalanche came back from their 2 game stint in Finland, where they won both games against the Jackets, and pummeled the Predators, 5-3.

The Avs have looked great the past few weeks and are back in excellent offensive form, with Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar all looking like All Stars yet again.

In this battle of two of the leagues best, who will come out on top of this Saturday night showdown?

The Canes have played a higher level of competition that past 2 weeks and they won 3 of those 5.
