And then there were seven. Seven remaining teams after the Carolina Hurricanes swept the Philadelphia Flyers. But the remaining series of Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs have been a propaholics paradise. We have been finding value all week when highlighting individual NHL players and combining their SOG and points and will continue doing that tonight in this two game slate. The NHL best bet articles are now not only in the green for units earned but also for our overall record going 8-7 so far with our NHL player props.  So let's dig right into more NHL best bets.

We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all playoffs long! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.

And if you haven't already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets of the day.

1. Nick Suzuki o2.5 SOG and a Point +150 on Lucky Rebel:

Nick Suzuki had a career year and should now be fighting for an award

Oh Captain, my Captain. Nick Suzuki is coming off a career year that has turned him into a Selke finalist and is capping off his fantastic season with a phenomenal playoff run. He has been Montreal's best forward in Round 2 of the NHL playoffs and looks to stay hot at home against the Buffalo Sabres. And Suzuki leads the entire Montreal roster in career points against Buffalo. He led the team in regular season production against this exact opponent. His top line combined for 72 goals and 161 points at even strength this season. And through two games of this series, they've been held scoreless at 5-on-5 entirely. Something has to give tonight — and it starts with three shots on goal.

Suzuki led Montreal with eight points — two goals and six assists — across the four regular season games against Buffalo in 2025-26, and is the team's all-time leader in points against the Sabres with 26 points in 21 career games. That's 1.24 points per game against this specific franchise across his career — a rate that trails only his performance against the very weakest defensive clubs. He knows Buffalo's structure, he reads their penalty kill, and he consistently finds shooting lanes against their defensive corps. So it's easy to see why his point s an NHL best bet. But now let's dig into the SOGs.

The Sabres are allowing the most shots against to the center position in the post season. And Suzuki is capitalizing on this. He has hit his 2.5 line in all three games this series while taking 7 shot attempts. And while Suzuki is normally a 1.5 SOG line guy, he has hit in 60% of the last 18 games he has played against the Sabres, while averaging 5.1 shot attempts. This is an opponent that the Canadiens' capitain LOVES to play and is exactly why his SOG + Point is an NHL best bet.

Suzuki goal at +200 also looks like a decent sprinkle tonight.

2. Alex Newhook o1.5 SOG and a Point +200 on Lucky Rebel:

Alex Newhook

Canadiens forward Alex Newhook tries to get the puck past the Flyers defender.

When you're hot, you're hot. And Alex Newhook has been blazing the Buffalo Sabres' wings (see what I did there?). The speedy center seems to slip past the Sabres wingers and defenders nightly, causing havoc and headaches with his breakaways. And this has resulted in four goals in his last two games against Buffalo off of a combined 12 SOG through three games.

The 2nd liner will need to stay hot for the Canadiens to hold a 3-1 lead against the deep Sabres team. Newhook scored the series-winning goal in Game 7 against Tampa Bay — Montreal's first playoff series victory in five years — giving him the biggest goal of the Canadiens' season. That wasn't a fluke moment. He has six points over his last 10 games, and the postseason has been his stage. Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki said of Newhook after Game 2: "I thought he was great right from the start. After that first goal he just continued to dominate the whole game." When your captain describes you as dominating, the shot prop and point prop tend to follow. StatMuse + 2

St. Louis landed on a trio of Newhook, Jake Evans and Ivan Demidov late in the Tampa series, and that group has been Montreal's most effective line through three games against Buffalo. Demidov — the 20-year-old rookie phenom — creates chaos in transition that opens space for Newhook to attack the net. Evans provides the defensive structure that lets the other two take offensive risks. It's a line that works precisely because the opposition focuses on shutting down Suzuki's top unit, leaving Newhook and Demidov to exploit second and third defensive pairs. And this is exactly why Newhook continuing to shoot and produce is an NHL best bet tonight.

Newhook's goal for +340 is worth a sprinkle as well.

3. Leo Carlsson o3.5 SOG and a Point +200 on Lucky Rebel:

Leo Carlsson

Ducks forward Leo Carlsson takes the puck into the offensive zone.

The Anaheim Ducks top center, Leo Carlsson, took a rare night off. He did not record a single SOG and only had 3 shot attempts. This is a HUGE dropoff from his playoff performance thus far. And with the ability to take the lead in the series going up 3-2 with a win in Vegas tonight, I'm ready to turn right back to the big man to have a big game.

Carlsson leads all Anaheim skaters in playoff scoring with 10 points — four goals and six assists — through nine postseason games, tied with Jackson LaCombe for the team lead. That production flows directly through his shot volume. He's scored on 15.1% of his attempts this season — meaning at four shots per game, he's averaging just under a goal every two games. The shots generate the points. The points generate the wins. Tonight, Anaheim needs all three, and this is a big factor of why this is an NHL best bet.

Anaheim controlled large stretches of both Games 1 and 2 in Las Vegas, generating more dangerous offensive sequences and controlling five-on-five play in both contests despite the split result. The Ducks' shot-generation model hasn't broken down — their power play has simply gone 0-for-9 in the series, the single variable suppressing their offense. So it will not be surprising if the Ducks are able to put up 30+ SOG once again.

Carlsson has hit his 3.5 SOG line in all but three playoff games so far this season. He is averaging 5.8 shot attempts across those 10 games. A return to the mean feels more likely than his third miss in a row.

Carlsson's goal at +200 looks fantastic as well.
