Its the NHL Frozen Frenzy today! Which means every single NHL team will face off in a "red zone" like day of non-stop hockey. So with so many games to choose from we had to really dig around to find the best spots which hold a ton of value for our NHL best bets. And don't forget, it's not too late to lock in NHL awards. So make sure to check out some of my favorite award picks, covering the Norris Trophy, the top goalie in the league and the Calder for the top rookie.

It's a 16-game Frozen Frenzy and the puck drops everywhere tonight. We got a shot-hungry winger feasting on the NHL's leakiest defense, a generational center who turns it up another level against division rivals, and a veteran playmaker with a very specific axe to grind. Let's get into it.

We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all season long! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.

And if you haven't already, be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets of the day.

1. Bobby McMann o2.5 SOG: -110 on Lucky Rebel

Bobby McMann of the Seattle Kraken

Bobby McMann has become the power forward Seattle has been looking for.

Don't look now but the Seattle Kraken are actually scoring, and are actually looking like a solid team. And a big factor for this was the addition of Bobb McMann, who is one of the league emerging power forwards. And tonight the Kraken will take on a struggling Philadelphia Flyers team, ripe to be embarrassed once again. Bobby McMann is a player built for games like this one. The Seattle winger plays a high-event, north-south game — he drives to dangerous areas, throws himself at goaltenders, and generates shot attempts in bunches. His shot volume has been a consistent story all season, and tonight he draws the softest possible opponent for this prop.

The Philadelphia Flyers are currently allowing the most shots against per game in the entire NHL. Their defensive structure has been porous at even strength, their goaltending is under pressure, and opposing wings have had a field day generating looks from prime ice. McMann isn't a finesse player who needs perfect setups — he creates his own shots through effort and positioning, which is exactly the profile you want attacking a team that bleeds attempts. And when a team is allowing 35.1 shots against per game, you want to target the player who is generating the most for their team.

McMann has hit his 2.5 SOG line in every game this season, and has 4+ shots in two games. He is averaging 6.3 shot attempts a game, which has elevated his production as well. This type of volume is nearing 3.5 SOG line levels, making this an NHL best bet. McMann has also scored twice and has three points on the season. The only pause is his head to head against the Flyers and the idea of the Flyers putting it together tonight.

However, at -115, you're laying very little juice on a matchup that is almost tailor-made for McMann's game. The over 2.5 threshold is a low bar for a player of his shot-generation profile in this spot. The Flyers are giving this line away. Back McMann to put the puck on net early and often.

2. Nathan MacKinnon o3.5 SOG: -120 on Lucky Rebel

Nathan MacKinnon

Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon takes the puck around the Penguins defender to the net.

Nathan MacKinnon against the Dallas Stars is a matchup you circle on the calendar. This is a Central Division rivalry with real teeth, and MacKinnon has historically elevated his game when the opponent is pushing for the same prize. There is an extra gear he finds against division rivals — the intensity in his skating, his shot selection, his willingness to put the puck on net from distance — and the history against Dallas reflects it.

Over the course of his career, MacKinnon has hit the 3.5 SOG threshold against divisional opponents at an elite clip. Over the last 28 matches against the Stars (including playoffs) MacKinnon has hit this line 75% of the time. He often soars past this number as well, averaging 5.1 shots against and 9.3 shot attempts when playing them, hitting his 4.5 line 50% of those games, making not only his regular line an NHL best bet, but also his alternate lines. He generates dangerous shot attempts from the high slot with regularity, uses his skating to create space, and never settles for a perimeter look when he can fight his way inside. Against a Stars team that plays physical and compact, MacKinnon will need to work for his looks, and that process tends to produce volume.

The -125 price is reasonable for a player of this caliber in a game with playoff-caliber stakes. Colorado vs. Dallas has the feel of a playoff preview, and MacKinnon tends to make sure his footprint is on those games. Four or more shots from him tonight would surprise nobody who has tracked this matchup.

3. JT Miller Point: -120 on Lucky Rebel

JT Miller

New York Rangers forward JT Miller raises his stick in the air after his team scored a goal.

We are going to follow another historical trend that is too good to pass up. JT Miller vs. his former team, the Tampa Bay Lightning. It has fed us before, and it will continue to feed us as Miller is a vindictive player. And while the Lightning have been strong to start the season, the game script could lead to the Rangers needing to race in order to win, making this an NHL best bet tonight.

JT Miller spent years as a cornerstone piece in Vancouver before the organization moved in a different direction. Now he heads back to Madison Square Garden — the place he started his career, a building that knows his name, and a team he will have to help prop up after the season-ending injury to superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin.

Miller is on a hot streak and playing with confidence. He is the kind of facilitator who makes everyone around him better, and his point-production history against the Lightning is exactly that sneaky spot to capitalize on. Out of the last 11 matches against his former team he has a point in 9 of them. He also has 14 points in those 9 games. He absolutely LOVES playing this former team. While Tampa has been playing a strong defensive game, the Rangers will be starting a relatively unknown goalie. That means they will have to keep up with the Lightning's top-notch offense.

The -120 price reflects the market's respect for both the player and the matchup. Miller carries a chip on his shoulder heading into this building, and the emotional charge of a revenge game has a way of sharpening focus rather than rattling it for a veteran of his experience. New York's power play will likely see prime time tonight, and Miller is central to everything they do with the man advantage. Fade him at your own risk.
