The Rangers are 12-7-1 this season and are 4th in the division. They come into this game on a 3-game losing streak and are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. New York plays better on the road with a 7-3-0 record and are 2-1-0 in divisional matchups.

This team did just make the Eastern Conference finals last season. Their offense is just as good as last season, returning guys like Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck. They rank 11th in goals scored and 7th in shots on goal per game.

Carolina is off to a hot start this season with a 15-5-1 record. They're 2nd in the Metro Division and 8-1-0 at home. The Canes home into this game off a win over the Stars Monday night and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

This team has no shortage of offense, and they play a fast-paced game. Carolina leads the league in shots on goal per game and is 3rd for goals scored per game. The Canes also rank in the top 10 for shooting percentage, power play percentage and faceoffs won.

They are also very stingy on defense. Carolina allows the 5th least goals and 2nd least shots on goal per game. Another bright point for this defense is they have a top 5 penalty kill.

We should see a high-flying game. I know the Canes play tight defense, but these teams know each other. I expect both teams to put each other to work and, in the end, find the back of the net.

Shesterkin has had rough outings due to the lack of coverage he is getting. The Canes average just about 35 shots on goal per game and they'll get that and more with how leaky the Rangers are. It's crazy to think they are at the bottom of the league at anything, let alone shots on goal allowed.

Now on the flip side, the Rangers are facing like Shesterkin. This could be a great bounce back spot for the Rangers to break their losing streak and getting to Martin will be first on the list. I think they come out fast and look to take an early lead, which will get the scoring started and should continue.

I lean Rangers in the bounce back spot vs a rival as well. It's also hard to turn them down at plus money. For some props, I like Alexis Lafreniere to get 3 or more shots on goal. He has hit his line in his last 4 out of 5 games. Chris Kreider is also day to day so could open up more ice time for Laffy.
