Brazilian duo Breno Drumond and Henrique Lessa captured their first World Series of Poker bracelets after winning the 2026 WSOP Event #66: $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold'em. The pair outlasted a field of 1,375 teams before defeating Japan's Ruka Yamauchi and Shotaro Murase in heads-up play.

Their victory earned them $184,769 from the event's $1.21 million prize pool while continuing Brazil's impressive run at this year's series. The win also added two more names to the growing list of first-time bracelet winners during the 2026 WSOP.

The Tag Team event remains one of the festival's most distinctive tournaments because teammates can alternate throughout play. As a result, communication and trust become just as important as technical ability.

Drumond and Lessa Outlast Massive Field to Win the $1,000 Tag Team Title

Christine Brewer and Orson Young reached fourth place before Joseph Monaco and Gabriel Monaco claimed third, setting up an international heads-up showdown between Brazil and Japan.

Pocket Aces Hold as Drumond and Lessa Seal the Bracelet

Ruka Yamauchi and Shotaro Murase mounted a determined challenge during heads-up play. However, the Brazilian duo gradually gained control by winning several key pots.

The championship concluded with a dramatic final hand.

On a board of 4♦ 2♦ 6♣ 8♣, Yamauchi moved all in holding Q♣7♣ for a flush draw and gutshot straight draw. Drumond quickly called with A♦A♠, putting tournament victory within reach.

The river failed to improve Yamauchi, allowing Drumond's pocket aces to hold and secure the championship. The victory delivered the first WSOP bracelets for both Brazilians and completed an impressive run through one of the series' most entertaining events.

Following the win, Drumond and Lessa credited their partnership for the result. They praised their preparation, communication, and mutual trust throughout the tournament, noting that teamwork proved decisive in the unique tag team format.
