Matt Higgins capped another memorable tournament run by winning the WSOP Circuit Tunica Main Event at Horseshoe Tunica.
The $1,700 event drew 367 entries and generated a $556,005 prize pool, with Higgins taking home $110,851. By defeating Daniel Garner heads-up, the Georgia professional captured his third Circuit Main Event title.
The result also moved his career tally to 10 WSOP Circuit rings, placing him among the tour's most accomplished champions.
Matt Higgins Controls the Heads-Up Battle
When heads-up play began, Higgins held approximately twice Garner's chip stack, giving him a significant advantage in the final showdown.
Garner remained within reach, but Higgins eventually converted his lead during a pivotal final hand.
After Garner moved all-in with Q♠ J♦, Higgins called while holding K♣ T♥. The Q♣ T♣ 5♣ flop gave Garner top pair, although Higgins had connected with the ten.
A 6♣ on the turn changed the hand dramatically by completing Higgins' flush. Garner failed to find a winning river card, allowing Higgins to close out the tournament and claim the top prize.
The result ended a strong final-table performance while leaving Garner with $74,824 for second place.
A Personal Motivation Behind the Grind
Following the victory, Higgins explained that his ambitions extend beyond tournament titles and prize money.
"You gotta keep grinding, man," Higgins said. "I gotta try to leave something for my kids when I pass."
"Hopefully, it's not anytime soon, but I'm gonna try to build something for them," Higgins added.
His comments offered a personal perspective on the sustained effort behind his recent results. After years of competing on the Circuit, Higgins now has another major achievement to add to his career résumé.

Matt Higgins Builds on a Breakthrough Summer
The Tunica title adds another major achievement to a season that has already delivered the biggest score of Higgins' career. Earlier this summer, he won the $1,000 Mystery Millions at the 2026 WSOP after surviving a field of 22,811 entries.
That performance earned Higgins his first WSOP bracelet and a $1 million payday, establishing a major milestone before his return to Circuit competition.
Rather than resting on that success, Higgins continued competing and quickly produced another deep run that ended with a championship.
The sequence of results highlights the consistency required to win across different tournament fields and competitive stages. Additionally, it also gives Higgins considerable momentum as the 2026 poker calendar moves into its later stages.
The Evolving WSOP Ecosystem
Higgins' live success also reflects the ongoing synergy between live series and regulated US online poker sites. Platforms like WSOP.com regularly host online Circuit ring events and satellite qualifiers, providing players with direct pathways to compete for major titles or qualify for live events like the Tunica Main Event.
For Higgins, who now boasts over $4 million in lifetime earnings, his 10th ring solidifies an extraordinary 2026 campaign.
