RGPS Golden Expedition Returns to Tunica With $200K GTD

The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) returns to Horseshoe Casino Tunica in Mississippi for a six-day tournament festival. Running from November 10-15, the Golden Expedition stop features 13 ring events and several guaranteed prize pools.

The $600 Main Event headlines the schedule with a $200,000 guarantee. Players can also enter the $250 PokerNews PowerStack, which offers another opportunity to compete for a substantial payout.

Beyond these headline tournaments, the festival features varied formats, satellite qualifiers, and lower buy-in events. This range gives players different ways to compete for RGPS rings while pursuing their share of the prize money.

RGPS Golden Expedition: Main Event Takes Center Stage

The $600 Main Event runs from November 13-15, with starting flights scheduled for November 13 and 14. Players who advance will return on November 15 to compete for the title and their share of the prize pool.

The tournament follows a strong showing during the previous RGPS Tunica Main Event in March. That event attracted 495 entries and generated a $252,450 prize pool, surpassing the November tournament's guarantee.

William Latta won the March competition, collecting $49,110 after defeating Kyle Cartwright heads-up. That turnout provides a useful benchmark for the upcoming festival, although the November field must still build toward its own results.

PowerStack Returns With a Proven Track Record

The PokerNews PowerStack offers another major tournament opportunity during the festival. Its $250 buy-in gives players access to a competition with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The event features two starting flights on November 11 before concluding the following day. Its previous Tunica edition attracted 452 entries and generated a $90,400 prize pool.

Cody Stanford won that tournament for $18,067 and claimed an RGPS ring. Consequently, the PowerStack could again attract players looking for another competitive event beyond the Main Event.

Thirteen Ring Events Offer Plenty of Variety

The Golden Expedition schedule includes No-Limit Hold'em tournaments, Omaha events, bounty formats, and competitions designed for specific player groups.

Opening day on November 10 features the $250 Seniors Ring Event, $250 Series Opener, and $200 Tag Team Double Ring Event. On November 11, players can enter the PowerStack or compete in a $200 Five-Card Pot-Limit Omaha event.

The action continues on November 12 with a $300 One Day No-Limit Hold'em tournament, a $125 Bank Roll Builder, and a $250 Big Bet Bounty. The following day adds $300 Pot-Limit Omaha and $300 Ladies Ring Event tournaments alongside the Main Event's opening flight.

Main Event flights continue on November 14, while the festival concludes on November 15. The final day's schedule includes a $200 Turbo No-Limit Hold'em tournament and a $400 Black Chip Bounty Ring Event.

Players can also pursue Main Event entry through satellites, including $145 turbo qualifiers. Additionally, the $120 Flip & Go Ring Event offers another option for players seeking a different tournament format.

Tunica Results Could Influence the Fall Leaderboard

Beyond individual tournament prizes, the festival also carries implications for the RGPS Fall Season leaderboard. Players earn points at designated events, competing for packages awarded to the top 10 finishers.

Jesse Stephens and Derek Kerns currently share the lead with 70 points each. Shannon Lee follows with 65 points, keeping the leaderboard race competitive as the season progresses.

The top 10 players will receive packages for the Thunder Valley festival, scheduled for November 27 through December 3. Those packages include entry into the $300 Dream Seat Invitational, whose winner will secure a seat in the PGT Championship in January 2027.

A Festival for Players Across Different Bankrolls

The Golden Expedition combines major guaranteed tournaments with a broad schedule of ring events and qualifying opportunities. Players can choose from several buy-in levels while competing for titles, payouts, and leaderboard rewards.

For readers following live tournament results and the broader landscape surrounding US online poker sites, the festival highlights the continuing appeal of in-person poker competition. However, the Tunica stop focuses on live events, giving players the chance to compete directly for RGPS rings and prize money.

With its headline tournament, varied formats, and season-long incentives, the Golden Expedition returns to Tunica from November 10-15. The schedule offers players several ways to participate while keeping the focus on competitive live poker.
