Like I said, the Cardinals have won two out of two games in this series. But their dominance over the Braves extends as well. They went three games head to head at Truist Park during the beginning of the month, but the Cardinals took two of three on the road. Now they lead the regular season series 4-1 with just one game remaining.
Not only are the Braves playing for pride, but they have also watched their double digit lead in the NL East dwindle. Currently, they only lead the Philadelphia Phillies by two games, and the Miami Marlins by three, both teams who were over 10 games back towards the end of May. Will Atlanta stop the bleeding tonight with a much needed win?

I'll take the bait and back the Braves as a dog, mainly because I am fine fading Dustin May. He hasn't had the best year with his 4.55 ERA and his 1.25 WHIP, plus he just got lit up by this Braves team a week ago.
Dustin May lasted just 0.2 innings before allowing five earned runs on five hits and a walk to the Braves at Truist Park. Sure, he bounced back with 4.2 scoreless innings against Milwaukee in his last outing, but even prior to facing the Braves, May allowed six earned runs on as many hits and a walk, including two home runs to the Kansas City Royals.
The Braves objectively have a better offense than Kansas City. Therefore, tonight I see them producing enough runs to win this game as an underdog, successfully avoiding the sweep. They have only been swept once this year, and I don't see it happening again tonight.
