The MLB playoffs saw some major developments yesterday, with the two most recent World Series champions, the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, both now on the brink of elimination at the hands of a fierce rival.

Today, the NL's top two seeds will look to stay alive on the road and give themselves a win-or-go-home Game 5 at home. The action will start with Atlanta taking on the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:07 p.m. Eastern.

Yesterday, the Phillies rode a six-run third inning and six strong innings by Aaron Nola to claim a 9-1 win and move within a win of a trip to the NLCS.

Atlanta has been one of the league's best teams in bouncing back from losses this season, and they got the job done in Game 2 of this series after a tough loss in Game 1.

Will the Braves bounce back again to keep their season alive and send the series back to Truist Park? Or will the Phillies secure their first NLCS trip since 2010?

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Game 4 Prediction and Betting Picks

Braves vs. Phillies Prediction: Atlanta to win

Braves vs. Phillies Picks: Atlanta ML (Best Value: -124 at BetOnline & BetUS) & Atlanta team total over (Best Value: over 4.5 runs @ -110 at BetOnline & BetMGM)

This season, including Game 2's win, Atlanta is 41-21 (.667) following a loss. In terms of win percentage, that puts them third in MLB, behind only the already-eliminated Mets (44-18, .710) and the Houston Astros (39-17, .696).

So, while their backs are against the wall in a major way, there's a lot of reason to still feel confident that the reigning champs will keep their repeat quest alive for at least one more day.

Given the struggles that Morton has had over the last couple of months, Atlanta might need the offense to take the spotlight to get the win.

Morton allowed three or more runs five times in his last seven starts, including an outing at Citizens Bank Park on September 25 in which he gave up six runs in 4.2 innings. For the season, Morton has a 5.47 ERA in five starts against Philadelphia, with 17 runs (16 earned), 31 hits, and 11 walks allowed in 26.1 innings.

But the Braves have responded in adverse situations all season long, and I expect them to tap into that resilience and confidence and perform better at the plate than they did in Game 3 to send the series back to Atlanta.
