The Diamondbacks opened the series with a 9-0 rout last night. Gabriel Moreno opened the scoring with a RBI single in the bottom of the 1st and Arizona never looked back. The Diamondbacks enter this contest 1 game behind the San Diego Padres for the final NL Wild card spot. It has been a week of turmoil for the D-Backs as star 2nd baseman Ketel Marte mysteriously no showed a game earlier in the week, he was placed on the injured list with what is being called a knee injury. Despite Marte's absence the Arizona offense has put up 16 runs over their last 2 games. Will that continue tonight? Let's dive in…

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been inconsistent offensively over the course of the season but they are hitting now (16 runs over their last 2 games) and have taken advantage of poor pitching staffs, which is what they face tonight. Cincinnati's starter Rheett Lowder has struggled on the road this season. In 11 road starts, Lowder owns a 7.23 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a .301 BAA. Behind him his a bullpen that is 6th worst in Major League Baseball with a 4.55 ERA. At home this season, the Arizona Diamondbacks average 4.6 runs/9 against right handed pitching. Books are taking the Marte absence into account with setting this number but they should not be plus money on their team total in this matchup. Arizona still has some offensive pieces and I like them to put up some crooked numbers tonight.
