But tonight our hosts are looking to get back to that level. The Chicago White Sox host the Kansas City Royals for the second game of their series tonight. Last night, they scored in the bottom of the 8th inning to win the contest, will they have the same luck on Wednesday? Let's check out our MLB picks in this game.

This is actually the sixth game between the two teams so far this season. The Royals hosted the White Sox about a month ago as the two teams split a four game series at Kauffman. The first three games were all decided by a score of 2-0, with Chicago taking the series finale 6-5. Ironically enough, that was the same score they won with last night to begin this new series in the Windy City.
Both offenses have been relatively abysmal all season long, but even when two trash cans go to war, someone has to come out on top. As we can see from past matchups, it doesn't take very many runs to win. So let's look at the pitching matchup and betting odds to determine our wagers in this game.

Seth Lugo has some insane splits on the road this year

As always, do your line shopping. This same prop can be found around -108 to the under, which is very much playable in my eyes. The White Sox were scoreless through four innings last night before exploding for five runs in the bottom of the fifth. However, I see Lugo shoving.
His away splits tell the story. He is coming off three very rough outings, but he already cashed this against the White Sox earlier this year. Lugo pitched 6.1 innings against Chicago, allowing just one earned run (two total) on four hits and four walks. But let's look at his numbers on the road. We are working with just a three start sample size, but on the road this year, Lugo's ERA drops to 1.42, and his WHIP to just 1.05. Both are phenomenal numbers that I am willing to back.
As a team, the White Sox batting average drops from .231 to .226 both at home and against right handed pitchers. Plus they've been hitting just .227 the past week, putting them in the bottom half of the MLB. Although Lugo has had his struggles, I see him getting out of his pitching slump against Chicago tonight on the road.
