It's Friday Night in the MLB, and while we don't exactly have a system play tonight, the Kansas City Royals still play baseball. They are bringing up the rear of the AL Central, and tonight they are on the road in the Pacific Northwest facing the Seattle Mariners who are second in the AL West. It's still plenty early in the year, but stacking wins is a priority. Let's check out some of our favorite MLB picks tonight at T-Mobile Park.

It's been a great start to the year, let's keep it up all summer long!

Bryan Woo gets the nod on Friday night at home against the Royals - Royals Mariners Picks

Bryan Woo gets the nod on Friday night at home against the Royals

Okay so the system is backing the Royals at home on Friday Nights (which has been profitable), but tonight they are on the road. This is the first game of three between the two ball clubs this weekend, and the Yals are coming off a stint in Sacramento. I'm sure they are eager to be home after losing the last two against the Athletics, moving their record to 12-19 overall but just 3-12 on the road.

Seattle is 16-16 on the year and have won six of their last eight overall. After winning five of six on two series on the road, they are back in front of their home fans, where they are 10-7 on the year. Tonight Cole Ragans and Bryan Woo battle on the bump, so let's look at the betting odds and find our best bets!

Seattle is in a bit of a predicament. They hit MUCH better at home, watching their team batting average improve from .234 to .251 at T-Mobile Park. However, they severely struggle against left handed pitching. The Mariners hit just .204 against LHP this season, and strike out over 25.6% of the time.

Ragans hasn't been all that great this season, but he still has plenty of tools. He's coming off pitching six innings against the Angels, allowing just a solo home run and four other hits while striking out 11 batters.

Royals vs. Mariners Prediction: Mariners Win, Royals Cover, Under 7

Best Bet: Cole Ragans Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-120) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

I think we see a VERY low scoring game, as I don't trust either offense with their splits. However I will be backing the Royals' Southpaw to sit down seven hitters tonight. He already averages 1.22 K/Inning this season, so an average night should get us there in six innings. As I stated above, the Mariners batting average drops 30 points against lefties this season, and they are fifth worst in the MLB in strikeouts, doing so over 27.2% of the time. At home, they are third worst in the MLB in strikeouts.

Ragans has only cleared this line in two starts, but he did have six against the Yankees in just 4.1 innings, and he is coming off nearly throwing two per inning against the Angels. He throws his best pitch, his fastball, over 54% of the time, and Seattle has one of the highest whiff rates in the entire MLB. Look for them to swing and miss plenty even if they are able to get some hits off of Ragans. I have a feeling a majority of his outs tonight will be Ks.
