Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros MLB Betting Insights

Shohei Ohtani hits .240 for the Dodgers this MLB season - Dodgers Astros Picks

Shohei Ohtani hits .240 for the Dodgers this MLB season

The Dodgers won fairly easily last night by a score of 8-3. Tonight we get the best of both worlds as Shohei Ohtani gets the start, and likely is the designated hitter as well. The Astros are tossing out Peter Lambert who has had a rough year so far in just 15.1 innings pitched. He'll be looking to turn things around, but doing so against the Dodgers could be asking too much of the right hander.

Ohtani has been a stud on the mound and decent at the plate so far. He is hitting .240 for the Dodgers with six home runs and doubles, as well as 14 RBIs. The man has already been walked 26 times in just 33 games, as pitchers are more and more scared of giving him something good to hit. Let's check out the betting odds for tonight's game and find our picks!

Peter Lambert allowed four runs against the Cardinals in his only start at home this year - Dodgers Astros Picks

Peter Lambert allowed four runs against the Cardinals in his only start at home this year

Dodgers vs. Astros Prediction: Dodgers Win and Cover, Over 8.5

Best Bet: Peter Lambert Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-120) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Back the Dodgers to get at least three runs off of Lambert early on in this game. He's coming off two decent outings, but in his only start at home, Lambert allowed four earned runs on seven hits and a walk to the St. Louis Cardinals in just five innings. Plus he faces arguably the best offense in all of baseball.

The Dodgers already hit .273 so far this season, but that increases to .275 against right handed pitching and all the way to .292 in 17 games on the road, where they are 10-7 overall. This is ultimately a terrible matchup for Lambert, who has already shown some struggles early on in the year. Last night, they scored seven runs in the first three innings of the game. Tonight the Astros' starter should be out there long enough to give up plenty of hits and runs.

Los Angeles ranks second in the National League and third in the MLB in terms of run differential this season, ranking fourth overall in total runs scored. Tonight they should have no problem putting the ball in play against Lambert and the Astros on the road.
