The NL West leaders took down the Twins 2-1 in their first matchup, and 12-3 last night to secure the series win. This is the only meeting between the two ball clubs this season, so if the Twins want some bragging rights over the Dodgers, they'll need to find a way to pull off this upset. The Dodgers came into this series on a two game losing streak, and have since won two in a row. The Twins were on a two game winning streak, but have now dropped two straight, both to Los Angeles. The Dodgers' lead in the NL West is growing once again, currently leading the San Diego Padres by nine full games. As for the Twins, they are in third place of the AL Central, sitting 4.5 games out of first place, and 3.5 out of second.
Shohei Ohtani and Joe Ryan take the mound tonight for their respective squads, and both righties have had very good seasons so far. Therefore, I think runs might be hard to come by tonight.

Back Joe Ryan to be a stud on the mound, just like he has been in his last nine starts

Have no fear, and back the under with me at Target Field tonight. These pitchers have a combined ERA of 4.46 and an average WHIP of 0.94. They have been shoving this year, and I don't see that changing tonight.
Ohtani has given up seven earned runs in his last two outings, but his overall splits get better on the road, posting a 1.23 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP in six road starts. I'm willing to look past his recent struggles since he is facing a Twins team tonight that hits just .244 at home, down from their season average.
On the flip side, we have Joe Ryan, whose ERA drops to 2.85 in nine home starts. The man ranks top 15 in the MLB in ERA and top seven in WHIP so far this year. He's coming off pitching five shutout innings against the Rangers, and he went the entire month of May without a loss. In fact, his last loss was April 28 against the Mariners.
Tonight I trust both of these studs to do their job on the mound, resulting in a very low scoring game in Minnesota.
