Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals MLB Betting Insights

The Cardinals are two games back in the NL Central while the Brewers are down 3.5. It's a very tight race in this division, but it is also still very early on in the season. St. Louis is actually in second place of the division with a 20-14 record, despite their run differential being 0. They are actually fourth in the division in run differential, and ironically enough, the Brewers lead the division in that category. So far this year, they've scored 45 more runs than they have allowed.

Milwaukee seems to be blowing teams out in wins, and barely going down in their losses. Will that trend continue tonight against St. Louis on the road? Take a look at the betting odds and pitching information below, and then check out our picks and predictions for this game.

Although the Cardinals were on a bit of a hot streak, I see the Brewers getting the best of them in this one. Their .239 team batting average actually improves tremendously to .250 against right handed pitchers, and Kyle Leahy has had a rough year.

He's allowed two earned runs in all six starts, giving up at least three in four of six outings as well. In his last two starts, through just 10.1 innings, Leahy has given up 17 hits, two home runs, three walks, and seven earn runs against the Pirates and Marlins. His splits actually get worse at home, where is ERA balloons up to 6.00 and his WHIP to 1.78.

Over the last week, Milwaukee ranks fifth in the MLB in team batting average, hitting an incredible .269, and ranking third in OBP. Leahy lets plenty of guys on base, so I see the Brewers having no issues getting them around to score some runs.
