Hump day baseball is on our screens tonight. Major League Baseball blessed us with some daytime action, however we are diving into the night slate to find our favorite MLB picks for Wednesday! We've only got a couple of spots worth wagering on, but both are priced at plus money, which has been good to us so far this season. Let's see if we can at least split for a little profit, or maybe hit them both for a much bigger payout!

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Picks

Jesus Luzardo gets the start tonight on the road against the Blue Jays, where his splits get exponentially better
Phillies vs. Blue Jays Pitching Matchup
- Philadelphia Phillies: LHP Jesus Luzardo (4-4, 4.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP)
- Toronto Blue Jays: RHP Max Scherzer (1-3, 9.64 ERA, 1.61 WHIP)
Best Bet: Phillies -1.5 (+125) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
We backed the Phillies on Monday against the Blue Jays and we are going right back to them. Simply put, the Blue Jays severely struggle against left handed pitching. Now, Cristopher Sanchez lit them up on Monday, and tonight Jesus Luzardo should do the same. His 4.56 ERA drops all the way to 1.54 on the road, and his 1.33 WHIP decreases to 1.20.
So not only does this guy pitch much better away from home, he faces a team that can't seem to figure out southpaws. Toronto watches their .249 team average drop all the way to .218 when facing left handed pitching. Max Scherzer is making his first start since April 28 tonight at home, and getting back into the swing of things against the Phillies could be a tough ask.
Earlier this year, Scherzer had allowed two earned runs in his last four starts, and he had a 13.50 ERA with a 2.05 WHIP in his last four outings. He struggled before, I see him doing so again against the Philadelphia bats.
Texas Rangers vs. Kansas City Royals MLB Picks

Seth Lugo has had some rocky outings this year, but he already pitched well against the Rangers. Can he do so again tonight?
Rangers vs. Royals Pitching Matchup
- Texas Rangers: LHP MacKenzie Gore (4-5, 4.23 ERA, 1.29 WHIP)
- Kansas City Royals: RHP Seth Lugo (2-4, 3.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP)
Best Bet: Royals ML (+101) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
No homerisms involved here, we are just backing a hot team. The Royals have won three straight games, including a comeback win over the Rangers last night. Tonight they face MacKenzie Gore, and the Royals see their team batting average increase when playing at home by over 10 points. Add in Seth Lugo on the mound for Kansas City, and I see the value on them at plus money.
Lugo already pitched against the Rangers two weekends ago. He allowed just one earned run on six hits, while striking out six hitters and walking none. This next time around at home, he should be even more comfortable and ready to shove. Not only have the Royals won three in a row, but they are also 6-2 during the month of June, having turned a corner at the beginning of the month. They did lose six straight prior to this streak.
The Rangers are just 16-20 on the road this season and see their team batting average drop over 10 points when playing away from home. Give me the hometown team to win tonight as a slight underdog.
