None of us would be here today if it weren't for our dads, so go ahead and read this piece later after you give them a call and tell them how much you love them. After that, go ahead and share some of our favorite MLB picks for Sunday's action. Either you can help pay for the Father's Day gift, or you can put a little extra coin in his pocket. San Diego Padres vs. Texas Rangers MLB Picks

We have two starting pitchers on the mound who I love to fade, so we will be backing both teams to score plenty by taking this over. Giolito has given up six earned runs over his last three starts during the month of June. The Padres have lost all three of those games but he has been responsible for the loss in two of them. Now, this is only his seventh start of the season, but he hasn't shown many positive signs so far.
Eovaldi hasn't been much better. His splits get worse at home this year, and he has allowed at least three earned runs in five straight outings, picking up the loss in three of those contests. Plus he hasn't been doing it against the scariest offenses either. The Red Sox picked him apart for three runs, the Royals put up four on him, and even the Angels scored three as well.
The Padres' bats improve on the road, and the Rangers hit righties well. Both should be able to get us over this total tonight.

- Philadelphia Phillies; RHP Zack Wheeler (6-1, 2.01 ERA, 0.85 WHIP)

Zack Wheeler is wheelin' and dealin', and we will be backing him to keep it up tonight against the terrible Mets. David Peterson starts for New York, and in his last four games, has two outings where he allowed six earned runs, and one more where he gave up three. He does not have a win in exactly a calendar month, and tonight is not the time he turns that around. This Phillies team just put up 15 runs on New York last night, today could be even uglier on Sunday Night Baseball.
The Phillies hit .232 overall and .253 at home. Sure, they struggle with lefties from time to time, but I believe the bats are firing, and they might not need many to cover this run line. Wheeler's splits drop to a 1.78 ERA at home and a 0.76 WHIP. He's shutout his opponent's hitters in three of his last five starts, and is responsible for just one loss this year.
The Phillies are 8-2 when he pitches, covering the run line in six of those wins as well. Tonight for plus money, I'll back them to do it again on the shoulders of their stud on the mound.
