The FIFA World Cup is now over. We are turning our attention to college football starting in less than six short weeks, however we are back to the daily grind of betting baseball. It should keep us plenty entertained as we wait for some MLS slates as well, but until then, let's get right into our favorite MLB picks of the season. So far, we have had plenty of success. Let's keep it going after the All Star Break.

New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers MLB Picks
Jacob Misiorowski has cooled down a bit, but he still leads the MLB in both ERA and WHIP
Mets vs. Brewers Pitching Matchup
- New York Mets: RHP Freddy Peralta (5-8, 4.66 ERA, 1.44 WHIP)
- Milwaukee Brewers: RHP Jacob Misiorowski (10-4, 1.62 ERA, 0.76 WHIP)

I am not fading the Miz. Instead, I'll back his team nearly every time this kid takes the mound until further notice. It's tough to believe that the MLB leader in ERA and WHIP has those splits improve at home. His ERA is 1.59 and his WHIP is 0.74 in 10 starts at home. He was rocking a sub 1.00 ERA during the months of May and June, and has since cooled off, but he is making his first start post all star break tonight.
The Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 games where Misiorowski starts, covering the run line in eight of those wins. Overall, they are 11-7 with him on the mound, winning by two in 10 of those contests. I'll back them to do it again tonight at nearly even money.
Freddy Peralta spent his first eight seasons with Milwaukee, and now faces his former team. He's having his worst statistical season since his first full year with the Brewers in 2019. His splits get much worst away from home, where his ERA balloons up to 5.58 and his WHIP to 1.54. I trust Milwaukee to get some runs off their former teammate tonight at home.
Athletics vs. Arizona Diamondbacks MLB Picks
Corbin Carroll and the Diamondbacks have won six of their last eight games overall. Will they keep it up back at Chase Field?
Athletics vs. Diamondbacks Pitching Matchup
- Athletics: LHP Jeffery Springs (3-9, 6.08 ERA, 1.42 WHIP)
- Arizona Diamondbacks: LHP Mitch Bratt (0-0, 6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP)
Best Bet: Diamondbacks ML (-143) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
This is about as close to a system play as you can get. The Diamondbacks are at home, and they are facing a left handed pitcher. Therefore, we are backing them to win, despite the extra juice on the moneyline. Arizona is 29-21 at home this season, and at Chase Field, their team batting average increases from .237 to .244. Not the huge jump, but definitely confirms they are more comfortable hitting at home. But the kicker… Arizona ranks No. 1 in the entire MLB in batting average against lefties, smacking them around for .270 on the season.
Jeffery Springs is in for a world of hurt. He brings his north of 6.00 ERA into the Desert tonight, which isn't a good sign. Springs has allowed six earned runs in each of his last two starts, and in four of his last five outings. In fact, this man had a 10.00 ERA during the month of June through six starts, and the last time he allowed two or less earned runs was in May.
Looking at his entire season, Springs has given up three or more earned runs in 11 of his 19 starts this year, including seven straight. The Snakes will punish him tonight.
