Back for another weekend at Betting News. Last week we went 2-2 for a small profit of .07 Units (Profit is Profit). That brought our year to date record to 25-15 for a profit of 12.75 Units. Tonight I am looking at the final game of a loaded Saturday slate as the Texas Rangers visit the Athletics for Game two of their three game divisional set, at Sutter Health Park, in Sacramento.

Texas Rangers vs Athletics Picks and Preview

After being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays to start their home-stand, the Athletics finally broke through last night with a 8-3 rout in Game one of the series. Carlos Cortes registered a 3 run double in the first inning. Jeff McNeil added four hits and 3 RBIs, including the go ahead home run, we'll get to him later in this piece. The post season is not in the cards for this A's team as they have the second worst record in the majors. The Athletics have been ravaged with injuries offensively this season. Texas, however, is 3 games out of the AL west and a .5 game back of the final wild card spot. Let's dive into tonights matchup….

Texas Rangers vs Athletics Predictions and Best Bets

Game Pick: Texas Rangers vs Athletics Over 9 -129 Lucky Rebel

The Atheltics have dealt with numerous issues this season. Offensive stars that are currently on the injured list include Brent Rooker, Nick Kurtz and Shea Langaliers. Added to that could be Jacob Wilson, who left last night's game after being hit by a pitch. Despite these injuries, the Athletics remain a solid hitting team at home (many teams hit at their temporary minor league park home). They face a left hander in MacKenzie Gore tonight, let's look at their home spilts this season when facing left handed pitching.

The A's lead the majors with 111 runs scored at home vs LHPs, averaging 5.2 runs per 9 innings. They are 4th in batting average (.282), 4th in OPS (.833) and 4th in wRC+ (128). Those numbers have fallen off a bit over the last 30 days, however. The A's are 11th in runs, 9th in batting average, 13th in OPS and 15th in wRC+. The A's have been able to hit on this home-stand as they have totaled 22 runs in four games. We are getting a good number here of their team total being plus money so I'll ride them tonight.

I am also adding in the game over, but I am opting to pay a little juice to get it to a flat 9. Texas Starter MacKenzie Gore has a very solid home ERA of 3.27 but that changes when he hits the road. Gore owns a 5.48 road ERA along with a 1.39 WHIP. Athletics starter J.T. Ginn does have a solid home ERA of 3.31 but his WHIP balloons to 1.49, which means Texas will have ample opportunity to get runners on base.

Once these starters leave the game we will see 2 very bad bullpens. The A's own the worst bullpen ERA in the majors, at 5.75. Texas' pen is 8th worst at 4.36. Sutter Health Park is an absolute sandbox and, as in most summer nights, is the number 1 rated park for runs according to Ballpark Pal. We'll see weather in the 80s with a 12 MPH wind, blowing out to left center. I wouldn't mind another 9-3 type win for the Athletics.

Player Prop: Jeff McNeil Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs +109 Lucky Rebel

Former batting champion Jeff McNeil come over to the Athletics in an offseason trade with the New York Mets. McNeil is hitting .263 on the season, with 5 home runs and 39 runs batted in. At home, he is hitting .276 with 2 home runs and 25 runs batted in. The left handed hitter is struggling against left handed pitching, however, as he is only hitting .209 with 2 runs batted in. He is very familiar with MacKenzie Gore as they are former division rivals in the National League East as McNeil is 8/14 lifetime vs him. McNeil is also swinging a hot bat right now as he has cleared this mark in 6 of his last 9 games. He has been hitting leadoff for the A's and is coming off a 4/5 night last night. I'll give this prop a look at plus money tonight.
