Dana White's Contender Series: Week 4 Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

mma

The UFC is back tonight with another exciting card for this weeks installment of Dana White's Contender series. This season has been very entertaining thus far to say the least, as we have had some massive underdogs overcome the odds to secure contracts.

Back to back weeks we have seen the underdog in the Main event upset the favorite. None bigger then Bella Mir being out classed by Alex Apodaca as a massive +800 underdog.

This weeks card will have some big shoes to fill, including the highly anticipated debut of Irish prospect Adam Darby in the Main Event. Darby will look to continue Irelands rise in the MMA game with a big time performance over Patrick Rivera.

Only time will tell if he is as advertised but as a fan I am certainly awaiting his time on the microphone if he is successful. The card is almost upon us so lets dive right into a preview of the card of week 4 of Dana White's Contender series, live from the UFC Apex!

Featured Bout: Adam Darby vs Patrick Rivera Preview – Welterweight

Dana White's Contender Series: Week 4 Preview, Odds, Watch Info & FAQ

Adam Darby (Left) takes on Patrick Rivera (Right) in the Main Event Of The Evening

The featured bout of the card is sure to be an interesting one. For the first time since the likes of Ian Machado Garry and Connor Mcgregor, it seems as if the UFC is getting behind another Irish prospect.

The highly touted Adam Darby, fighting out of Dublin Ireland, will take on Patrick Rivera. Rivera is certainly not the A side of the match up at 34 years old and 17 regional fights under his belt.

It is typically not a good sign to see a fighter have so many fights on the regional scene without getting a shot in the UFC. This could have come due to the 4 professional losses on his record.

The last loss coming in 2023 and to make matters worse, came by way of submission. Rivera actually has 3 submission losses on his record, which should show the glaring hole in his game.

As of more recent Rivera has put together an impressive 6 fight winning streak since 2023. His most recent win came by way of rear naked choke, showing improvement in the grappling department.

The hard work has paid off as he finally gets his chance at a UFC contract but not under the best circumstances. Adam Darby has lived up to all the hype thus far in his career.

The irish prospect has put together 6 solid performances in a row for a 6 fight win streak. Darby has finished 5 of those wins by way of submission, a stark contrast from some of the irish inspiration that came before him.

Grappling seems to be at the forefront of his game, showcasing high level skills on the cage warrior promotion. Cage warriors has produced many top European prospects over the years and Darby could very well be the next one.

The UFC knows full well what they are doing here serving up Rivera for Darby to slam dunk. They are setting up a match up between a submission specialist and someone that has high level skills but has consistently been submitted.

Only time will tell if Darby is able to seize the opportunity the UFC has given him. One thing is for sure, the match up will be fire works from start to finish and hopefully Darby is as good on the mic as his predecessor!
