MMA fans across the globe are highly anticipating the return of Connor Mcgregor at UFC 329. The return match up could not be any better as he takes on fellow legend Max Holloway in the main event.
After 5 long years off with a nasty leg injury, Mcgregor is back to prove his doubters wrong. The fight taking place on International fight week is ever more fitting.
Unlike most Mcgregor fight cards, the UFC has pulled out all the stops with a stacked fight card. The Co – Main Event is a #1 contenders match up in the light weight division between Paddy Pimblett and Benoit Saint – Denise.
It will be interesting to see if Paddy can bounce back from a big loss and stifle the impressive run BSD has been on.
Leading up to the Main Card we have 9 high level fights lining the preliminary card. It is my duty to present you a detailed preview and odds on every fight.
Many fans have patiently awaited Mcgregors return so lets not waste any more time. Lets get right into a breakdown of the Preliminary card at UFC 329, live from Las Vegas Nevada!

Featured Preliminary Bout: Robert Whittaker vs Nikita Krylov Preview – Light Heavyweight

Whittaker Makes His Debut At Light Heavyweight Against Veteran Nikita Krylov
Robert Whittaker will make his debut in his 3rd weight class in the UFC promotion Saturday night. Nikita Krylov will be the lucky fighter to welcome him to the Light heavyweight division.
Krylov is also a veteran with the promotion, with over 21 UFC bouts under his belt. The Ukrainian contender has a record of 12-9 with the promotion, producing truly a 50/50 type of style.
On the bright side of things Krylov is coming off a masterful performance at 34 years old. The bounce back victory came by way of knockout in the 3rd round.
A much needed victory for Krylov as he went into the fight losing back to back fights. To make matters worse, both of those losses came by way of knockout and produced many concerns over his durability at this point in his career.
Krylov has many fights in his career, with a total of 42 professional bouts in his career. The majority of that career has been spent at light heavyweight which has become his more natural weight class.
For the first time in who knows how long, Krylov will have an obvious size advantage here. This should produce a great scrap for Whittakers light heavyweight debut.
Will Whittaker Make A Splash At LHW?
Robert Whittaker has also had a very long career within the UFC. As previously mentioned he has spent time at welterweight before becoming a champion in the middleweight division.
Whittaker has now racked up over 24 fights in the promotion and is now in the later half of his career. The former middleweight champion has now suffered back to back losses at middleweight and feels like he needs change at this point in his career.
It may come as a concern to many MMA fans that Whittaker was able to fight at welterweight at one point and is now moving up with the big boys at light heavyweight. The fuel to this concern is clearly the durability issues Whittaker has faced in recent memory.
A knockout loss to Dricus Du Plessis was the start of a trend in Whittakers career. He has been hurt in many appearances since and even was submitted by Khamzat Chimaev after being dropped with strikes.
Saturday night will be the first time we see the Fan Favorite perform at the new weight class. Many questions about the careers of these men will be answered and it is sure to be a great scrap from bell to bell!
Robert Whittaker vs Nikita Krylov Odds:
- Moneyline: Robert Whittaker (-135) vs Nikita Krylov (+115)
- Round Total: 1.5 Total Rounds – Over (-200) / Under (+174)
- Most Likely Method Of Victory: Robert Whittaker By KO (+230)

Gable Stevenson vs Elisha Ellison Preview – Heavyweight

Multi Sport Athlete Gable Stevenson Will Make His UFC Debut Against Elisha Ellison
The highly anticipated debut of multi sport athlete Gable Stevenson goes down Saturday night against Elisha Ellison. Stevenson has garnered much hype through his collegiate wrestling career and brief stint with the NFL before starting his MMA career.
MMA fans across the globe have not seen much of Stevenson in the cage with only 3 pro bouts. Despite going 3-0 , he has only amassed less then 6 minutes of cage time due to finishing his opponents quickly.
All 3 ways have come by way of knockout in the first round. The UFC does not seem to care about his lack of experience due to his high level collegiate wrestling career.
The prospect spent 5 years in college racking up many accolades along the way. Stevenson was a 2x NCAA champion, a 4x Big 10 Champion, a 5x All American, and 2x Dan Hodge trophy winner.
The UFC has seen the success of fellow top collegiate wrestler Bo Nickal and doubling down on Gable Stevenson. There is no doubt with Stevenson's impressive resume that he will be able to implement it into an MMA game, but there are many other factors that goes into MMA.
I personally have many questions surrounding Stevenson in MMA. Some important questions that need to be asked such as does he have the cardio to go 3 rounds, does he have the striking to go toe to toe with any opponent & lastly does he have the durability to take a punch sometimes?
Will Stevenson Impress In His Debut?
All questions that will be answered in due time but unfortunately Elisha Ellison is not the best test for a new prospect. Ellison will be making his second trip to the Octagon for the UFC after a quick 1st round knockout loss in his debut.
The bout came against rising prospect Brando Pericic, who made quick work of Ellison. The bout did little to show if Ellison is truly of UFC caliber and he draws an even tougher match up his second time out.
It is possible the UFC views Ellison a little expendable at this point. One thing is for sure and it is that MMA fans across the globe are highly anticipating the debut of such a talented prospect in Gable Stevenson!
