The UFC is back after a week lay off with a huge fight card at UFC Macau. The promotion is taking the action half way across the world to China to show off some of the bigger stars of the region.

The Main event will certainly provide fireworks as it features a top Chinese prospect Song Yadong. He will be taking on the former champion Deiveson Figueiredo in a great stylistic match up.

The action does not stop there as another Hometown prospect looks to bounce back in the Co – Main. Mingyang Zhang will take on Alonzo Menifield as he tries to bounce back from his last match up in China.

Main Event: Yadong Song vs Deiveson Figueiredo Preview – Bantamweight

The home town favorite Song Yadong heads home for a huge match up against Deiveson Figueiredo. The match up will mark the return of both fighters coming off big losses.

Deiveson Figueiredo has found success since moving up from the Flyweight division. The long reigning Flyweight Champion moved up to Bantamweight in 2023 due to some rough weight cuts.

At bantamweight he looks very fresh and the move has solved some of his cardio issues at Flyweight. Figueiredo is able to carry his power deeper into fights at this weight class despite being somewhat undersized.

Since the move his frame looks more full and he has looked great on the scales. A stark difference from his early looks on the scale at Flyweight, where he often looked very sick.

A UFC veteran at this point in his career, this bout will mark his 21st with the UFC promotion & his 8th bout at bantamweight. Now at 38 years old and coming off a knee injury in 2024 it is safe to say he is not the same fighter he once was.

The skills have not fallen off though as he is still a powerful striker with great footwork. Even now as a gatekeeper, he will provide a big test for the young prospect Yadong Song.

Will Song Yadong Bounce Back?

Song is looking to bounce back from a tough decision loss to fellow superstar Sean O'Malley. The bout was incredibly close despite the "Unanimous" decision, the bout was very much 1-1 going into the 3rd round.

The prospect was able to show flashes of his striking and used his offensive wrestling well. Song was able to secure 3 takedowns and about 3 minutes of control time enroute to the loss.

It is important to mention his offensive wrestling game plan because I believe it could serve him well in this bout. Song Yadong will have a massive 10 year age advantage going into this bout, and no doubt the speed advantage.

Since joining the UFC in 2017 at the ripe age of just 19 years old Yadong has had incredible success. The prospect has gone 11-4-1 on his run although he has not quite lived up to his hype just yet.

At just 28 years old I believe he is just hitting his prime at this point in his career. A big win over a veteran like Figueiredo could lead him to bigger fights at the top of the division.

Co – Main Event: Mingyang Zhang vs Alonzo Menifield Preview – Light Heavyweight

The hometown hero Mingyang Zhang will return in a very winnable match up against Alonzo Menifield. A UFC veteran, Menifield is no easy night for any prospect within the UFC.

Menifield has been with the UFC for 7 years and over 17 fights. He carries with him an impressive resume, fighting some of the best the LHW division has to offer.

He even has big wins over top prospects like Jimmy Crute, Oumar Sy, and Dustin Jacoby. Now at 38 years old he is getting to the back half of his career.

Menifield is coming off a huge KO loss at the hands of Volkan Oezdemir in 2025. A common theme for Menifield through out his career as his chin has shown to be his biggest weakness.

Mingyang Zhang is not the best opponent to test your chin against. The Big power puncher Zhang is also coming off a tough loss to the hands of Johnny Walker in August.

The devastating loss came in a Main Event also in Shanghai China. The hometown hero dropped the ball in front of his hometown crowd.

There is no doubt the loss left a bad taste in his mouth and the UFC has done him a favor here. The UFC has given him a very winnable fight in front of the hometown crowd for redemption.

Zhang is a big power puncher that throws combinations in flurries. I believe his long combinations and power will be to much for Menifield.

I find it very hard to believe a top prospect like Zhang will drop back to back fights at home. Expect a big performance out of Zhang and a devastating KO over an older Veteran in Menifield.
