Friday night's NBA Playoff doubleheader features two teams on the brink of elimination and two looking to punch their tickets to the Conference Finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers head to Detroit with momentum from an overtime Game 5 win, while the Minnesota Timberwolves face a must-win home game against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs.

Below, we break down the early lines and identify the best bets and value picks in our NBA Friday playoff preview.

NBA Friday Playoff Preview: Top Bets and Early Value

Detroit Pistons vs Cleveland Cavaliers

After securing their first road playoff win of the 2026 postseason, the Cavaliers opened as 3.5-point favorites for Game 6 back on their home floor.

Cleveland has now won three straight games against the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed and appears to be in a strong position to make it four in a row and carve its path toward a meeting with the Knicks.

The market has shifted slightly toward the favorites, too. At Lucky Rebel, the Cavaliers are now laying -4, while the total has dipped from 210.5 to 209.5.

The Cavs can be an infuriating team to back, but the reality is they're simply more experienced and battle-tested in postseason play than the Pistons. It makes sense why the market is moving in Cleveland's direction.

The Pistons are a classic example of a young, exciting team that dominated the regular season but lacks the depth and experience to handle the heightened adversity of the playoffs. It's a natural growth process all great teams endure, and Detroit is simply next in line.

So I do lean with the Cavs winning this game outright, but where I have deeper conviction is throughout the prop market. I've identified three plays that appear to have an edge as we're a day out from this contest. We should look to take advantage of these prices while we still can.

Pistons vs Cavs Props

  • Dean Wade Over 3.5 Rebounds (+115)
  • James Harden Over 2.5 3-Pointers (+109)
  • Cade Cunningham Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds (-104)

Let's start with Dean Wade and his rebounding ability. The 29-year-old has been steady on the glass, averaging four rebounds per game in the first round against the Raptors and doing the exact same in this semifinal series against the Pistons.

Wade has collected at least five boards in three of the past four games against Detroit. He's really embraced more of a defensive, crash-the-glass role rather than serving as a shooting option. That much is evident by the fact he's attempted only three total shots over the past three games.

Not only is Wade being more aggressive in this category, but we've also seen him consistently clear this prop number, yet they're still offering it to us at a plus-money price, which I'll happily wager on.

Moreover, I'll also be taking a stab at a plus-money play with James Harden and his 3-pointers prop. It's listed at 2.5, which is a mark we've seen him clear in each of the past three games. He's averaging more than eight attempts from beyond the arc during that span, and I see no reason for that to change.

Outside of a dud in Game 2, where he scored just 10 points, Harden has been terrific in this series and, with a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals on the line, believe it or not, I'll be putting my faith in James Harden.

And finally, let's look to back Cade Cunningham and trust him to finish with more than 32.5 combined points and rebounds. Even though I'm not overly confident in Detroit winning this game, I still expect Cunningham to go out swinging. The kid is an absolute stud and will need to carry this team as much as possible to avoid elimination.

Throughout this series against Cleveland, Cunningham is averaging 26.6 points and five rebounds per game. His rebounding production has dipped slightly from what we're accustomed to seeing, but with so much at stake, he's going to need to be flying all over the floor. Heck, he could clear this number with his scoring alone, like we saw Wednesday night when he dropped 39 points.

Either way, I feel confident about Cunningham eclipsing this mark on Friday night.

San Antonio Spurs vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Victor Wembanyama San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs look to close out this Western Conference Semifinals series, so they can move on to play the defending NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder as soon as possible.

But first, they'll have to get win in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, which is no easy task.

Oddsmakers opened the Spurs as 4.5-point favorites, with the total originating around 218.5. Currently, at Lucky Rebel, the spread has moved to -5 in favor of the visitors, while the total has remained steady at 218.5.

Spurs vs Timberwolves Props

  • Victor Wembanyama Under 2.5 3-Pointers (-173)
  • Anthony Edwards Over 2.5 3-Pointers (-125)

Like I've done in every game throughout this series, I'll once again be betting Victor Wembanyama under 2.5 3-pointers. Yes, the price is steep at -173, but like I've continued to say, if sportsbooks are going to keep hanging this number at 2.5, and the juice isn't completely outrageous, then I'll continue backing the under.

And guess what? The under has now cashed in seven of nine playoff games. Sure, he'll make it sweaty, but in a tougher road environment against a strong perimeter defense, I expect the strategy for the San Antonio Spurs to remain the same: attack inside and lean into their strengths and lengths.

The other play will involve a 3-point prop, too, but surrounding Anthony Edwards, who despite not being 100% healthy, is still making an impact in this series.

And we're specifically seeing that on his home floor, where he looks the most comfortable. In the two home games this series, he attempted 26 shots in the first, knocking down 12 of them along with three triples, and then followed that up by going 13-for-22 while hitting three more shots from deep in the next game at home.

Edwards hasn't attempted more than 13 shots, or made more than two 3-pointers, in any of the games in San Antonio.

He thrives at home and will need to do everything in his power to score and contribute in order to extend this series. Given his injury, he also may feel a bit more comfortable settling for shots from deep, so hopefully he can connect when he does exactly that.
