Best NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions January 28
IU Indy Jaguars vs. Robert Morris Colonials NCAA Basketball Picks
Albert Vargas leads the Colonials in assists per game, while shooting 38.8% from deep and 90.4% from the stripe
Best Bet: Robert Morris -8.5 (-111) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
These two teams already played once in Indianapolis earlier this year. In that game, the Colonials were 5.5 point favorites on the road, but failed to cover the spread. However, they escaped with a win in overtime as they beat the Jaguars by three points. Now we have Robert Morris back at home, and they are laying three points more than they did on the road. This line actually opened at -9.5 (which is what I pounced on) and to me, it's a bit telling.
Robert Morris is the better team here, and even after failing to cover, they are still getting plenty of respect from the books. Plus, the Colonials are coming off a home loss to Green Bay on Saturday. Against an IU Indy team that is ranked 100 spots lower than the Phoenix, the Colonials should be able to bounce back with a win.
We shouldn't be worried about minimal chances in this game. The total is nice and high at 160.5, which is pretty much what we saw in Indy earlier this season, although the teams combined for 189 points. Overall, the hosts should have plenty of chances to cover this margin, and I think they are laying this many points for a reason.
Texas Longhorns vs. Auburn Tigers NCAA Basketball Picks

Just like with Bobby Mo, you can get a better number than I did, as I jumped on Texas vs. Auburn over 158.5 last night. Clearly the line as moved down a couple points, but I'm still confident in my thinking in regards to this game.
Auburn ranks in the top half in terms of possessions per game, but at home they shoot up into the top 100, averaging about four more trips up and down the floor at Neville Arena. They are extremely offensive minded, as they rank No. 13 overall in offensive efficiency and top 10 in both offensive rebounds and getting to the free throw line, not to mention they're No. 65 at taking care of the basketball. At home, their eFG% shoots up from 53.2% to 59%, ranking top 30 in the nation. While they don't take very many threes, they are one of the best teams in terms of shooting percentage inside the arc, again, improving significantly at home.
The Longhorns barely crack the top 200 in terms of pace, but they get sped up to their hosts, jumping 15 spots in seven games away from the Moody Center. Texas is a top 15 team in terms of offensive efficiency, offensive rebounding and getting to the stripe. Defensively, they fall off, especially on the road. This team drops from No. 87 in opponent eFG% to No. 274 in away and neutral games, plus they are No. 289 in turnovers forced and bottom 20 in FT Rate defense.
Expect plenty of free throws in this game, resulting in points with the clock stopped, helping our over.
