After a successful trip to the desert last Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks now head to the East Coast to take on the 0-2 Washington Commanders. The hosts barely lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 1, but in Week 2 at Jerry's World their worst nightmare happened. Jayden Daniels suffered an injury right before halftime in a 37-20 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and Marcus Mariota will be the starting quarterback in their home opener this Sunday. Seahawks vs Commanders NFL Analysis and Insights
Yes, Marcus Mariota is getting the start for Washington. Commanders fans should be worried, as the team goes to London next week to face the Indianapolis Colts. They might not be super focused in their home opener prepping for international travel without their QB1. While Sam Darnold's status is up in the air, Mike Macdonald has stated that he will go if he is able, even though Drew Lock has stepped up in his absence.
Either way, I think they take it to their hosts this weekend. Seattle has taken care of the ball, with just one turnover all season, a fumble lost last week. Lock has been smart with the football, and he faces a defense that has yet to force a takeaway through two games. Plus, the Commanders fumbled the ball three times against the Cowboys, and the Seahawks have forced four turnovers so far this year.
All of this could lead to easy points for the visitors.

The Seahawks offense has been humming, and regardless of their quarterback this weekend, I see it continuing. They put up 381 total yards against Arizona and were 6/13 on third down. Lock has a 73% completion rate, averages 211 passing yards per game, and has four touchdowns while only taking two sacks. Even if he takes a back seat to Darnold on Sunday, he should torch the Commander's defense as well.
Washington is burnt toast. They can't stop anybody. This team gave up 318 yards to Philly and 332 to Dallas. Jalen Hurts had over 200 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Dak Prescott had 279 through the air and four scores. Plus, both offenses had three long, time consuming drives that resulted in scores. Philadelphia for 76, 62 and 74 yards, the Cowboys for 66, 65 and 83 yards.
Seattle has proven they can score on big plays (82 yard passes to JSN), or longer drives as well that tire out a defensive unit. I think the Commanders have way too many problems to try and slow down Seattle. If Darnold is ruled in, perhaps this moves over the key number of 24. Regardless, I think the defending Super Bowl Champions are good for at least four scores, hopefully three of them finding the end zone.
