We have the second game of a back-to-back tonight in Philly. The Tampa Bay Lightning are still in town to take on the Flyers one more time. It was a beatdown by the Lightning the other night as they went on to win 7-2.
Tampa is 27-13-3 this season and second in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a nine-game winning streak after beating the Flyers on Saturday. The Lightning are 9-1-0 in their last ten games and a dangerous 15-4-3 on the road.
Things are all of a sudden clicking hardcore for the Lightning. Tampa currently ranks second in goals scored per game and shooting percentage. They are twenty first in shots on goal per game, but their shooting percentage makes up for any lack of shots.
On defense, they are really good. They rank second in the league for goals allowed and seventh in shots on goal allowed per game. Tampa commits the second most penalties per game but kill of 83% of them, which ranks sixth best.
Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is expected to get this start. He is 18-7-2 this season with a 2.33 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Vasi looked great on Saturday and is completely settled in during this win streak.

Philadelphia will try to break a two-game skid at home tonight

Flyers forward Travis Konecny watches the puck move around the zone as he tries to get open.
The Flyers are 22-13-8 so far and are third in the Metro Division. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak after the beating they took from Tampa on Saturday. Philly is 5-3-2 in their last ten games and 12-6-5 at home this year.
This offense is nothing to impress. They rank in the bottom of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Philly's power play is in the dumps with their shooting percentage being a bright spot.
Defense is definitely a little better. They rank tenth in goals allowed and fifth in shots on goal allowed per game. The Flyers commit about five penalties per game and kill of 81% of them, which is solid. Either way, this team is finding ways to win.
In net, we're expected to see Dan Vladar. He is 16-6-4 this season with a 2.35 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Lightning vs. Flyers picks.

We should see a good game here and I think the score stays close. Both teams are playing well, and Philly will make adjustments to not allow seven this game. Neither team is going to want to be the one to make the mistake and that safe play can keep the score down.
In regard to who wins, give me Tampa. They are on absolute fire right now and I don't see the Flyers stopping them. I do think the Flyers will make enough adjustments to keep the game close, but not enough to get the win.
Give me Nikita Kucherov for 2 or more points. He is coming off a four-point game as well as hitting the mark in his last eight games straight. Kucherov is the leader of this team, and I think he has another big game.
I kind of like Vasilevskiy for under his saves line. He only faced 20 shots last game for 18 saves. I think we see more of the same from the Flyers offense and he clears the under here.
