Gretzky Betzky is BACK and tonight we've got an eleven-game slate that's absolutely dripping with value. The NHL is hitting its stride, lines are getting sharp, and the props are ripe for the picking. We've got a Norris Trophy contender doing Norris Trophy things, a newly-minted Capital with a bone to pick against his old conference, and a quarterback of a blue line getting set to carve up one of the leakiest defenses in the league. We have a 6-7 record to start the season, but are in the net positive due to plus money plays cashing. Let's improve that tonight with some NHL best bets!
So let's weave through the slate to find value on these NHL best bets. And don't forget, it's not too late to lock in NHL awards. So make sure to check out some of my favorite award picks, covering the Norris Trophy, the top goalie in the league and the Calder for the top rookie.

1. Jordan Kyrou Point: -105 on Lucky Rebel
Jordan Kyrou is fitting in like a glove for the Washington Capitals
Let me paint you a picture: Jordan Kyrou in a Washington Capitals sweater, fresh chemistry brewing on a new line, and the Los Angeles Kings rolling into Capital One Arena. This is a nightmare matchup for LA and a golden opportunity for Kyrou. And while the Los Angeles Kings are looking for their first win, the Capitals will look to keep rolling, which is why this is one of the NHL best bets of the night.
Kyrou has owned the Kings throughout his career, consistently finding his offensive game against their defensive structure. He has 13 points, along with 5 goals in 25 games against the Kings. The Capitals have been clicking at home, generating quality chances and keeping the puck in the offensive zone — exactly the kind of sustained possession game that lets a winger like Kyrou set up shop and operate. He's the type of player who thrives in transition and off the rush, and the Kings have been susceptible to exactly that this season.
And the best piece of this best bet is just how hot Kyrou is currently. He has three points in his last two games and four points in his last four games. After a slow start he has found chemistry with Strome and Tuch on the Capitals top line. And even though he is not on the top power play, he gets plenty of PP minutes. It's pretty crazy that a top line forward is nearly even money for a point, so let's take the value and run with it. New team, chip on his shoulder, favorable matchup, and -105 juice that's practically begging to be taken. Lock. It. In.

2. Miro Heiskanen Assist: +105 on Lucky Rebel

Positive odds on a Norris Trophy-caliber defenseman getting an assist? Yes, please. Sign me up for this NHL best bet. Where do I send the money?
Miro Heiskanen has been absolutely electric to start this season — the kind of start that has Dallas Stars faithful whispering Norris Trophy conversations out loud without shame. The Finn has been everywhere: eating minutes, quarterbacking the power play, and threading passes through traffic like it's a video game. His primary assist rate this season has been jaw-dropping, and that's precisely the prop we're targeting. Through eight games, Miro has 6 points, 3 of which are goals, and has a point in five games.
Now, Boston is a tough opponent — and that's exactly why we're getting +105. The market is pricing in the difficulty of the matchup, but here's the thing: Heiskanen doesn't disappear against good teams. In fact, his history against Boston specifically has been strong, finding a way to get on the scoresheet even when the defensive matchups are tight. He has a point in 67% of his last six games against the Bruins and has 7 points in those games. Dallas at home, Heiskanen logging 24+ minutes, power play opportunities likely — the assist is coming. The plus money is a gift for this NHL best bet.

3. Shayne Gostisbehere Point: -130 on Lucky Rebel
Hurricanes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere takes a shot on goal.
Alright, -130 is the steepest price on the card tonight, but when the matchup screams this loud, you pay the toll and walk through the gate smiling.
Shayne Gostisbehere is a point-producing machine from the blue line. The Ghost Bear operates best when he has space and time to quarterback an offense — and the Vacouver Canucks are generously providing both right now. Vancouver is allowing the 2nd most goals against in the league (4.5 GA/GP) this season, and the underlying numbers are equally ugly. Opponents are generating quality chances at a staggering rate against them, and Gostisbehere has carved them up historically like a Thanksgiving turkey. This is exactly why this looks like an NHL best bet tonight.
Now the real cherry on top of this NHL best bet is the special teams. Vancouver's penalty kill is dead last in the league, only killing 58% of the power plays they face. Carolina on the other hand, has the 7th best power play in the league, hitting at a 25% rate. While Gostibehere doesn't play on the top pair, he plays on the top power play unit. In fact he has four power play points in his last three games against the Canucks and has 5 this season.
The -130 is justified by the match-up quality and Gostisbehere's consistency. This is a pay-the-price prop.
