Alright, the article plays have not been great lately, and it is time to get back on track!
The Leagues Cup has been all over the place so far. Teams are creating massive chances but struggling to finish them, which has made this tournament tough to read at times.
Tonight's slate looks much better to me, though.
I found a couple of spots I really like, so let's get into it.
Head over to our MLS Picks Page for our expert's soccer analysis, or read my best bets below.
Featured Plays
Philadelphia Union vs. Necaxa
I think this Philadelphia side has been underperforming lately.
They were the better team in their last match against Cruz Azul and created more than enough chances to get a result. The finishing simply wasn't there.
After listening to the players following that loss, it is clear they know the performance deserved more.
This feels like a great bounce back spot.
Philadelphia should be able to control large stretches of this match and create plenty of chances in front of their home supporters.
Before that loss, the Union had won three straight since returning from the World Cup break.
They looked like a team ready to make a real push in the second half of the season.
Quinn Sullivan's return to the starting XI also gives them another dynamic playmaker in midfield.
At home, Philadelphia are conceding just under one goal per match and if Andre Blake starts tonight, I like their defensive outlook even more.
Necaxa are a team I have been watching closely in Liga MX.
There is talent there, but I still think they are a midfielder and winger away from becoming a truly dangerous side.
Right now, too much of the attack runs through Julián Carranza.
I do think Necaxa can create a few moments.
Still, I trust Philadelphia to respond after the Cruz Azul loss and take all three points at home.

Club América vs. Portland Timbers Over 3 Goals

Da Costa and The Timbers have been rolling since the break.
Portland have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch since the World Cup break.
Their recent score lines tell the story.
The Timbers' last five matches have produced six, four, three, three, and seven total goals.
Providence Park has also been one of the best atmospheres in MLS.
Portland's supporters bring real energy, and the team often feeds off it.
They enter this match off a 5-2 win over Puebla and should be full of confidence.
The Timbers are unbeaten since returning from the break.
Even after losing Felipe Mora, the attack has not skipped a beat.
Club América have been a little more inconsistent this season.
They are normally one of the dominant forces in Mexico, but they have struggled to reach that level consistently.
Lately, though, things have looked much better.
América are also unbeaten since returning from the World Cup break and may have benefited from the reset.
They are usually stronger when playing in Mexico, but I still think they can find success here.
Portland want to attack.
That should leave space in transition, and América have the quality to punish them when those openings appear.
There is a real chance Portland continue their hot run and threaten this total on their own.
More likely, I think both teams contribute.
This has all the makings of another wide-open Leagues Cup match with chances at both ends.
