After two terrific games in both NLDS series yesterday, it's now the American League's turn. The White Sox look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead back to Chicago, while the Yankees have their ace on the mound tonight in the Trop. Should be another terrific day of playoff baseball! Let's dive into my MLB best bets for Monday, October 5th. Last time I wrote a MLB Picks article we went 4-0! Let's continue that shall we..
Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians

Before the postseason started I went on Betspresso a couple times and talked about taking a flyer on whoever the 6-seed would be in the American League Playoffs. The AL Wild Card this year was historically bad with teams who were multiple games under .500 that had a chance to make the playoffs. How often in sports do you see teams that just make it in to the playoffs and then go on a little run. I had a feeling that might happen, and so far it's ringing true.
The White Sox are a perfect 3-0 in the playoffs and all 3 wins have come on the road. They were led by their offense against the Astros scoring six runs in Game 1 and seven runs in Game 2. Against the Guardians in Game 1 though it was the pitching that led the way. The White Sox used 5 different pitchers and only gave up 3 hits and no earned runs. For Game 2 tonight the decision for me is easy, keep betting the White Sox. When a team is hot like this I will keep betting them until they give me any reason not to.
Chicago is going with another opener tonight in Anthony Kay. He appeared in two games for them so far this postseason. He has given up one hit and no earned runs in 2 innings pitched. Cleveland is going to roll with Gavin Williams who was 14-8 this year with a 3.76 ERA. At home he was 8-4 with a 2.84 ERA. He faced the White Sox 4 times this year and gave up 9 earned runs in 20.1 innings pitched. On paper the Guardians still have the pitching advantage and they are also desperate for a win since they can't go down 0-2 heading back to Chicago.
I see that juicy +130 on the money line and I just can't pass it up. The White Sox got all the confidence right now and I'm just going to continue betting this team at plus money.

New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays

Can Cam Schlittler continue to dominate for the Yankees?
Another division matchup tonight in the ALDS and this one should be fun. Cam Schlittler vs Freddy Peralta. Some guys are just made for the moment. They elevate their game in the playoffs and even though it's been a small sample size it certainly feels like Cam Schlittler is on his way. I don't know if there is a pitcher in the sport right now who you would want on the mound more in a playoff game when you need a win then him. It's the reason the Yankees are favored tonight on the road against the best team, record wise, in the American League.
Don't sleep on Freddy Peralta either. The Rays starting pitcher was fantastic in the month of September. 28 innings pitched, 16 hits, 3 earned runs (0.96 ERA). He's only given up four earned runs at home in 4 starts since be acquired by the Rays at the trade deadline.
We know the Yankees lineup has struggled without Judge and Stanton this season and I see that continuing again tonight. We also have no reason to think that Cam Schlittler won't pitch well because he is going to win the AL Cy Young and has been fantastic in the playoffs the last two years. The total is low at 6.5 for a reason, but I'm going to just bet the first five innings. I want to back both of these starters tonight to dominate for their teams.
