There is plenty of sports action going on in the New York City area today. Starting off, we have game one of a doubleheader between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees a 12:35 p.m. eastern. Then, across the river at 3:00 p.m. eastern, the World Cup Final happens at MetLife between Spain and Argentina. Finally, after all of that, the Dodgers and Yankees play a second game in the Bronx for Sunday Night Baseball. Our analysts will be breaking down that second, nationally televised, meeting, and see if they can find any winning picks.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is looking to bounce back tonight against the Yankees after giving up six earned runs last contest
This is the only meeting between the two teams this season, unless both were to make the World Series. The Dodgers took the first game of this series on Friday Night, winning 2-1. However after yesterday's matchup was postponed, the two now play a doubleheader today at Yankee Stadium. I'll be focusing on the later matchup, and hoping for no injuries that would set us back.
However we have two of the best pitchers in the entire sport going head to head on national television tonight, and I think that sets up for a very entertaining game. Maybe we won't see too many runs, it might turn into a pitcher's duel, but either way, it should keep us glued to the screens throughout the contest.

Typically I am a guy that backs the over on Sunday Night Baseball. I like to lean into the nationally televised "juiced ball" theory, but not tonight. Here's what I'm thinking with this matchup.
Obviously we have two studs on the mound. Yamamoto and Schlittler both possess a sub 3.00 ERA and sub 1.00 WHIP. It's going to be hard enough for hitters to do anything against these two. Yamamoto is coming off giving up six earned runs, and I have faith he focuses in for a quality outing tonight. As for Schlittler, he's been a flame thrower, with a 1.84 ERA in the month of July.
The other factor, is that this is the second game of the day. We are going to either have some second stringers playing tonight, or we will have some very tired hitters at the plate. Either way, I don't think it results in a ton of offense, and that's enough for me to back this under.
