It all comes down to this. The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is set, as Spain and Argentina go head to head this Sunday. It feels like just yesterday we were blessed with three contests per day, now there is only one meaningful match remaining. Argentina is looking to be the first team to win back to back World Cups since Brazil did so in 1958 and 1962. But Spain, playing in just their second World Cup Final ever, is looking to stay undefeated in such matches. Who will be crowned World Champion on Sunday? Find out with our picks below.

Will Messi and Argentina be celebrating a second straight World Cup Title on Sunday? Spain Argentina Picks

Will Messi and Argentina be celebrating a second straight World Cup Title on Sunday?

Argentina is not only playing in their second straight World Cup Final, it is their third in just four tournaments. This year they face Spain, last tournament they beat France, and back in 2014, they lost to Germany in extra time after a scoreless 90 minutes. These players have plenty of major tournament experience.

But even though they are younger, so do the Spanish. They are coming off a EURO 2024 victory, just like Argentina in the Copa America. The European and South American Champions battle it out on the world stage just two years later. Spain has looked like the stronger team all tournament long, and I do have a 5-1 future backing them to win this competition. With that in mind, here is how I am betting on this match.

Best Bet: Spain/Argentina Under 2.5 (-150) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

I fear no Juiceman, instead, he fears me. Drinking a whole bunch of it this weekend in the World Cup Final, but let me play you out my game script. I already have a future on Spain, and this is a great place to hedge. However, if you gave me a free unit, I would still back Spain to lift the cup.

Spain is going to do exactly what they did to the French. They will control possession, force their opponents to play longer stretches of defense, and essentially eliminate any shot at creating chances, simply by playing keep away. Sure, Spain will attack and get shots on goal, but they defend so well, and they are more than patient. If they score first, they won't park the bus. Rather they will possess the ball a little bit longer while still looking to extend their lead.

Argentina's back line has not been good all tournament, especially with defending leads. If Spain scores first, they will play keep away and maybe find another goal. If Argentina scores first, I have all the faith in Spain finding an equalizer. However, it won't get out of hand. In my eyes, Spain scoring first gives us a 1-0 or 2-0 Spanish win. If Argentina scores first, we will see a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. Either way, paying the juice for this under is worth it in my opinion.

Spain will not sit back and let Argentina play a million balls into the box like England did. They will press, control more than 12% possession, and look to find another. Spain is comfortable winning a match without many goals, and I think that's what we will see on Sunday.

Title Match History

I typically lean under in any tournament final, whether it's World Cup, EURO, or even UCL. And history is on our side.

Six of the last eight World Cup Finals have stayed under 2.5, and three were scoreless after 90 minutes. Four of the last six EURO Finals stayed under, with one being scoreless after 90. Four of the last five Copa America Finals have stayed under, with three being scoreless after 90 (all involving Argentina). And lastly, seven of the last eight UCL Finals have stayed under this number, with four 1-0 wins, and the loser being shutout seven times as well.

Prediction: Spain Wins 1-0 (+600)
