We've got quite the showdown in Oxford this weekend as two top 15 teams go head to head. The No. 4 ranked LSU Tigers from Baton Rouge are in town to take on Lane Kiffin and the No. 13 Ole Miss Rebels. The Tigers got the best of Ole Miss last year in Death Valley, but now they are on the road. There are plenty of narratives surrounding this game, as are with any Lan Kiffin contest. The Rebels' head coach has his entire family in on the mind games this week as he prepares to face Brian Kelly and LSU, so let's get into that, and our favorite picks for this matchup.

#4 LSU Tigers vs. #13 Ole Miss Rebels NCAA Football Insights

LSU is the No. 4 team in the nation, but have they been overly impressive? I don't think they've played up to the standard of a top five team. Sure, they had a great win against then No. 4 Clemson on the road, but we've learned that the Tigers of the ACC might have a character building season upon them, so that win doesn't look as good as it could on a College Football Playoff resume. The same thing happened with Florida, where LSU beat the Gators just 20-10 at home. But again, we've learned that the Gators aren't anything to be scared of.

Now they have what will be a true test on the road.

Ole Miss is 4-0, beating Georgia State and Tulane in non conference play, by a combined score of 108-17, while squeaking out wins against Kentucky and Arkansas in SEC play. They should've, but didn't, cover in either conference matchup, and surely the Rebels have had this one circled. There are just three ranked opponents on Ole Miss' schedule, and the other two are on the road, so winning this one would be huge for a CFP resume.

Now, Lane Kiffin has once again got his entire family playing mind games with the opponent. If you've been living under a rock, Landry Kiffin, daughter of Lane, launched her relationship with LSU linebacker Whit Weeks. Apparently (according to Lane), the two have been together a while, but she just know decided to "hard launch" him on her Instagram, which is apparently a big deal to these zoomers.

Anyways, I'm sure Lane is somehow pulling the strings with this. The timing seems more intentional than a coincidence, but then again, maybe his daughter didn't think anything of it. Sports media ran with the story all week long, and Kiffin even tweeted out to take the over (which I don't like), but I will be backing the Rebels.

#4 LSU vs. #13 Ole Miss NCAA Football Picks and Predictions

LSU vs. Ole Miss Prediction: Ole Miss Wins and Covers, Under 54.5

Best Bet: Ole Miss ML (-120) EveryGame

If you listened to the Ole College Try on Tuesday, you'd know that I bet this live on the show at -111 on BetOnline. That number is gone, but -120 is still a go for me. The Rebels win this game.

Leaving the Instagram conspiracy out of it, I think Ole Miss is more battle tested this season. No, I do not think Arkansas is that good, or Kentucky for that matter, but I do believe the Tulane Green Wave are the truth, and the Rebels held them to 10 points. They would have covered against the Wildcats if not for a BS field goal by Mark Stoops, that served literally no purpose other than to cover.

LSU beat Clemson (who lost to Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and struggled against Troy), and the Florida Gators at home (who lost to South Florida and have scored 33 points in three games that matter). Those are not good wins, Oxford is a tough place to play, and clearly the Tigers' focus is off the field (or at least for one of their LBs). The Rebels have put up 450 total yards per game, and will without a doubt be the toughest offense the Tigers have faced. From what I've seen this season, Ole Miss is better equipped to win in a shootout (scoring 44.75 points per game), while LSU's offense is still finding some mojo (20 PPG vs. FBS opponents).
