Week 5 in the NFL has come to an end and with it quite the extensive injured list of players. Getting hurt is part of the game, but it always sucks to see anyone miss time or get hurt in general.
That being said, injuries are key part of fantasy football and knowing who's playing and who to target if they're not; that's. important. I'll highlight a couple key injuries going into Week 6, but mainly we're here to talk waiver wire.
The waiver wire is the key to a successful fantasy season and today we're going to talk about a few guys I think are worthy of your FAAB.

Injuries Sustained in Week 5
| Player | Team | Pos. | Injury | Estimated Time Out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tom Kennedy | DET | WR | MCL | Rest of season — reported |
| TreVeyon Henderson | NE | RB | Ankle | Multiple weeks — reported |
| Will Shipley | PHI | RB | Partial plantar fascia tear | Multiple weeks — reported |
| Deebo Samuel | SF | WR | Hamstring | 2+ weeks — provisional |
| David Montgomery | HOU | RB | Groin | Week-to-week |
| T.J. Hockenson | MIN | TE | Concussion | 1–2 weeks — estimated |
| Kenyon Sadiq | NYJ | TE | Concussion | 1–2 weeks — estimated |
| KC Concepcion | CLE | WR | Concussion protocol | 1–2 weeks — estimated |
| Michael Penix Jr. | ATL | QB | Ribs | Day-to-day |

Quarterbacks
Michael Penix Jr. (ATL)
Penix took a hit late in their game against the Baltimore Ravens this week and left the game with a rib injury in overtime. Tua Tagovailoa stepped in to take his place, threw an interception and the game was over.
That second sentence is why this injury is so important. We've seen the spread in their matchup with the Bears go from 1.5-points to 3.5-points and that's because Tua's likely to get the start should Penix not be able suit up.
You might not be starting Penix this week, but this definitely changes the fantasy outlook on guys like Drake London or even Kyle Pitts. London's target share has exploded with Penix under center and a change at QB could mean disaster for the young wideout.
TreyVeyon Henderson (NE)
Henderson re-injured the same ankle he hurt during training camp and he's set to miss multiple weeks because of it. The Patriots don't really have another RB that peaks my interest, but Rhamondre Stevenson's value just shot up.
Rhamondre was seeing 45% of the designated carry share this year, playing 63% of the team's snaps, running 52% of the routes and lead all RBs in targets with 18 so far this year. Now with Henderson, Rhamondre's set to explode.
The Patriots play the Jets, Bears and Dolphins over the next three weeks; there should be plenty of opportunity for Stevenson to stuff the stat sheet.
David Montgomery (HOU)
David Montgomery started the year with a 3-touchdown game, but since then he's been relatively quiet. He's been held out of the endzone, he's averaging a career worst 3.5 yards per touch and now with this groin injury he's set to miss multiple weeks.
Enter, Woody Marks.
Marks is rostered in less than 60% of fantasy leagues this year and is in line to immediately take over the bulk of this backfield. Marks already lead the Texans's backfield in rush yards, YPC, targets and routes run. He's been their best RB and now he can show what he's capable of. If he's out there, do whatever you can to get him.
Waiver Wire Adds

Running Backs
Jordan Mason (MIN)
Mason's just a stash. He was splitting duties with Aaron Jones 50/50 prior to injury and now that Vikings are going into a bye week; he could be back soon. You won't get any immediate value, but he might be cheaper than some of these other guys.
Marshawn Lloyd (GB)
I know, it's hard to want to invest in any RB in this Green Bay backfield. The team ranks dead last in every single rushing stat you can think of, rush yards, rush yards per game, yards per carry, rushing touchdowns and the run blockings been even worse.
That being said, the OL has been revamped and it looks a lot better. The bar wasn't high, but they've cleared it. Jordan Love's been pressured on just 20% of his dropbacks over the last two weeks, compared to 33% through the first three weeks.
Marshawn Lloyd is seeing the bulk of the early down work, redzone work and he finally got into the endzone last week (twice). Lloyd's a good stash for most teams, but even more so if you're battling injuries and bye weeks.
Dameon Pierce (PHI)
Philly has no one left in that backfield. Pierce was elevated from the practice squad, mid week last week and ran the ball 11 times for just 14 yards. Will Shipley entered the game as the Eagles' RB1, but suffered a foot injury and was forced to leave the game.
Shipley is set to miss time, Tank Bigsby got hurt last week and so did Saquon Barkley. Barkley's status is still up in the air, but Pierce might just be the only option Philly has at this point.

Wideouts
Darius Cooper (PHI)
Philly's got a ton of injuries and with that more opportunities for guys to step up. One guy that's done that now in back to back weeks, Darius Cooper. Cooper's got just 5 catches in the last two games, but 3 of them have been touchdowns and he's seen 10 targets in just 2 games.
I'm not running to blow a ton of FAAB here, but I think 3 touchdowns is tough to ignore.
Germie Bernard (PIT)
Roman Wilson went down in the Steelers Week 5 game against the Colts and after he did it was Germie Barnard that dominated. Bernard caught 6 of his 9 targets for 80 yards but couldn't get into the endzone. Bernard's a 6'1 wideout out of Alabama and with the way Aaron Rodgers is playing, he's gotta be on your radar.
Malik Washington (MIA)
Hate to suggest anyone in this Dolphins offense, but Washington's value in a PPR format can't be ignored. He's averaging just over 7 targets per game, 4.6 receptions per contest and he's got 262 yards. Washington hasn't scored a touchdown yet, but this Dolphins offense doesn't score a lot of touchdowns.
I love the volume, but little else in this Miami offense.
