English Premier League Weekend Preview: Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

Here we are entering week 18 of the season and the same 5 teams have claimed the top spots. Last weekend we saw a lot of zeroes on the board. Everton, Chelsea, Newcastle and Arsenal all did not concede a goal.

The top spot in the table is currently held by Arsenal with 39 points. Right behind them in Liverpool with 38 points and these 2 teams will face off this week. Aston Villa has played very well and are tied with Liverpool but are in 3rd with the tiebreaker.

In 4th with 34 points is Manchester City, who at point, was the 1st seed for a while. Tottenham, who also held the top spot for a bit, is in 5th with 33 points. Still very close and could be anyone's for the taking. They will each meet each other as the weeks go on and every game will be extremely valuable.

There have been tons of mid-week games now as we get into the winter. We will see more games in the next few weeks of the holidays. There were some League Cup games this week as well. Leicester City beat Birmingham City on Monday 3-2 and Liverpool laid a beating on West Ham by a score of 5-1.

Some of the matchups this weekend looks good. Let's take a look at the rest of the schedule for the weekend.

Aston Villa is getting a layup this weekend vs Sheffield Untied. They should take care of business and put pressure to move into the 2nd spot. West Ham may also have a layup with how bad Manchester United has played this year. They play each other in the early game Saturday morning.

Fulham will take on Burnley in a game that they should control. Newcastle will visit Luton Town in what should be a win for Newcastle and Manchester City vs Brentford was postponed.

The 2 games we're going to talk about are Tottenham vs Everton and Liverpool vs Arsenal. Both are nice matchups that I think we can find some value in on the sportsbooks. We of course will have to get into the top 2 seeds playing each other.

Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction, Odds and Picks

Prediction and Pick: Mohamed Salah to Score or Assist (+105)

Liverpool will have their work cut out for them against a good Arsenal squad. Home field advantage is huge in games like this, so I lean Liverpool on the game. But for Liverpool to win, they will have to be led by their top guy.

Salah is having a ridiculous year, per usual. He has 11 goals and 7 assists on the season. This offense runs through this man. He is involved in almost all of their offensive possession that lead to goals. He has had at least 1 shot on target in his last 6 games and averaged just about 4 shots per game.

He has a point in 2 of his last 3 games and in his last 8 out of 10 games. I love him in this spot at home where he shines vs a good opponent. He is also the team's all-time leader in goals with over 200 scored, so that doesn't hurt.

Tottenham vs Everton Prediction, Odds and Picks

Prediction and Pick: Heung-Min Son to Score or Assist (-130)

This should be a good matchup. Everton is coming in on a 4-game win streak, so they're feeling themselves. The Spurs have won their last 2 games, but are 2-2-1 in their last 5 games.

I think both teams will score in this game. I lean with Tottenham, but Everton's little streak makes me think they give the Spurs a run for their money and possibly get a draw. Since I lean with the Spurs, you know I'm backing their main guy.

Son has 10 goals and 4 assists on the season leading the squad. He has recorded a point in 2 of his last 4 games and 4 out of his last 7 games. He gets a fair number of shots per game, averaging 2.5 per game in his last 5 games. At home and comfy, he is going to need to lead this team for the win and will cash us in the process.
