Despite allowing three goals to the French, Senegal was able to contain them for the first half of the contest. I trust Senegal to hold their own for the first 45 minutes, and maybe even a little longer like we saw against France. Senegal should know they are outmatched offensively. They only produced 0.53 expected goals while allowing 1.79 from the French. Norway tallied 2.52 expected goals while conceding just 0.80 to Iraq.
However, Senegal is much better than this Iraqi side, and they will prove they belong in the Round of 32 today. It would not surprise me if they beat Norway outright. But ultimately, they should come out very cautious, conservative, and willing to brace for the attack they know is coming. It's tough to stop Haaland and company, but Senegal has the tools to do so by frustrating him and taking him out of his rhythm. In my eyes, this should be a scoreless match at halftime, likely ending in a 1-1 draw, where both teams feel like they should've earned three points.
