Midweek College Football is back, folks! Starting this month, we have NCAA Football games to watch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, keeping us entertained all seven days of the week. This is actually Day 6 of 61 straight days of football, and we will be betting it every step of the way. We are off to a hot 4-1 start, hitting three straight after losing by the hook on Friday evening. But we only have one college game to work with tonight, as Southern Miss takes on Troy. We have two pretty bad teams if we're being honest, but Troy is favored by this many for a reason. I think they are the stronger squad overall. While both teams only have one contest against a Power Four school, the Trojans were much more competitive in their game against the Tigers (Mizzou). However this begins a long season in the Sun Belt for these two teams. How will they do in their first conference matchup of the year?

Like I mentioned, the hosts are favored for a reason, with the line steaming up from 8.5 to 10 where it currently sits. I don't think we ever got the number we needed with Troy, as a touchdown win at home seems very much in play. Instead, we'll attack the player prop market to see if we can keep our streak alive.

We are backing Troy's quarterback to scramble for at least a 10 yard rush tonight at home. Goose Crowder. What a name. This kid has cleared this number with ease in three of his four games so far this season. In those contests, he broke off for a 14, a 22, and a 23 yard rush. Keep the change, all we need is 10.

Plus he's done so on a minimum of five carries per game, averaging 5.25 throughout the season. He's good for at least two or three designed runs, and Crowder is more than athletic enough to escape pressure. The Trojans did not give up a sack last week, and the senior QB found green grass for 48 rushing yards, breaking off a 22 yarder. Tonight we should see something similar, especially against this Golden Eagles defense.

Southern Miss has allowed four different quarterbacks to run for at least a 10 yard gain in just four games. Two of Alcorn State's QBs did so, going for a 16 and 14 yard rush. Byrum Brown of Auburn ran for 88 yards total on the ground, including a 20 yard rush. And even UConn's quarterback found a 17 yard run on the ground. Goose should have no problem waddling his way to a double digit gain to cash our bet.
