In this piece, we will focus on the early contest, which features just a 1.5 point spread in favor of the hosts. Nick Minicucci is back under center for the Blue Hens, and it made all the difference. After three straight losses, the Blue Hens took down the Bears at home by scoring 61 total points. Tonight, I think we could see some back and forth, as neither defense is particularly strong.
However, the Hilltoppers are also coming off a bye week at home, which automatically makes me lean their way with a short spread. But with that being said, I have turned to the player prop market in this contest. We are on Day 27 of betting on football for 61 days straight, and after suffering three straight losers, I think we get back on track tonight.

Delaware vs. Western Kentucky Prediction: Delaware Wins Outright, Over 56.5
Best Bets: Jo Silver Over 48.5 Rushing Yards (-114) BetOnline
Back Mr. Silver to clear 49 rushing yards, a number he has reached in just three of seven games this season. However, he has cleared with triple digit rushing yards twice, including last week against Missouri State. Silver is the clear top running back on this team, with more combined carries than the next three RBs on the roster. Silver is running for 4.7 yards per carry this year, going for 331 yards on just 71 carries. But tonight, the Blue Hens should lean on his legs.
Western Kentucky surprisingly has a decent secondary, but their trench unit is awful. The Hilltoppers rushing defense ranks bottom six in the country in yards per carry allowed, letting opponents go for nearly six yards per touch (5.8 to be exact). And history is on our side.
So far this year, Western Kentucky has let the top running back on each team clear 50+ yards with ease, besides one. Nevada, Indiana, and New Mexico State all had their top backs go for at least 149 rushing yards. Georgia and Sam Houston had theirs go for at least 55 yards, with the Bulldog's back up RB going for 79 as well. Even Mercyhurst's top back gained 58 yards on the ground in a blowout loss. Missouri State's RB did not eclipse this number, but their QB had 76 in that game.
This is the perfect matchup for Jo Silver to show his stuff, get plenty of touches, and cover 50+ rushing yards for us.
